Rorshach
On a totally different topic.. This showed up in my twitter feed today. I don't follow Jan Åge Fjørtoft, so I hadn't seen this before. But it seems I have to follow him now..

Philokles
Fjortoft biting himself to show Suarez couldn’t have bitten Chiellini was one of Twitter’s greatest moments, to be fair. Hertha draw 2-2 with Bayern. Two very fortunate goals - one taking a huge deflection, and the other coming after a clash of heads - but some of their defending was exceptional. Especially from Klünter who has been moved from winger, to full back to centre back. Were it not for a braindead foul from Grujic off the ball giving away a penalty they would’ve won. Consigliere
Upset on the cards in Bilbao. Not a bad goal from a 38 year old. https://streamja.com/16dP ETA. and it's over. Bilbao beat Barca. Outplayed them for large portions of the game as well. Barca aren't that good without Messi.

So toothless without him. Inaki Williams was a real threat, especially in the first half.
A Horse Named Stranger
And Bayern have confirmed that Coutinho is coming, and also Cuisance from Gladbach. Cuisance is a bit of strange signing. He is pretty young, and had a great debut season for Gladbach. Last season he was mostly outside the team, and he wanted asked Gladbach for a guarantee to get more games. And now he is off to Bayern, who are already stacked on central players. Ok, Sanches still wants out, but he is a fringe player for them anyway. Joey Crows
Bayern needed that Coutinho signing otherwise Dortmund was definitely gonna win the Bundesliga this year. Now we'll see. Also, in La Liga news; Griezmann is overrated and has been for years. Also, does Bilbao still only sign players with Basque heritage? If so that's crazy and kinda cool even though diversity is universally a good idea.

If it was only Basque heritage people like Itani James would obviously not be eligible (though Basque country not being a big immigrant hotbed it's still pretty rare for anyone non-Basque to be in the squad) and they have decided against moves for players who have some Basque ancestry but weren't born or never lived there. What 'spent significant time playing' means appears to be a matter of some contention, though.

I would like to know what "spent significant time playing" means too because, not to brag or anything, but I did once play keepie-up with a guy from Bilbao outside of a Basque restaurant in Redondo Beach, California. And I am currently without a club...

Barca have been an Argentina 2.0 for a few years now except with better players. Their over reliance on Messi really shows when he doesn't play or is marked out of a game. Even the players have gotten used to passing the buck to Messi and look lost without him. 3 hours ago, Joey Crows said: Also, in La Liga news; Griezmann is overrated and has been for years. Playing him on the left wing last night was a major reason for his quiet game. If Barca signed Griezmann to be a left winger then they've wasted a whole lot of money as, aside from his days at Sociedad and maybe first season at Atleti, he hasn't been nearly as effective on the wing as he is as a secondary striker (his best position) or CF. 3 hours ago, Joey Crows said: Interesting. And I am currently without a club... It's an unwritten rule (so doesn't actually exist in the club's bylaws) and as a result the interpretation varies. A famous example is when Griezmann was being considered back when he was a Sociedad player: he joined Real Sociedad's academy at the age of 14 and some at Bilbao (like their director of the academy) felt that his training at a Basque club from a young age means he would be eligible but others on the board didn't agree. polishgenius
He's great at finding and creating space. And finding the right position to be a safety outlet when an Arsenal player gets into a corner too (always a crucial trait that rarely gets talked about enough). polishgenius
I see Liverpool are in for their second relegation struggle in a row, then? Not sure why I watched the whole Everton-Watford game. I mean, it wasn't bad, but I could have watched Teemu Pukki running wild over Newcastle instead.
Iskaral Pust
Ragged again from Liverpool in the first half, then cruising comfortably late in the second half until Adrian just gifted them a goal. At least we held on, and we have a full week until our next match. An away match immediately after our midweek effort was a tough task. This is done and now we can regroup. Norwich produced what we expected after their Anfield performance. Liverpool’s defense might be a bit ragged, but Norwich created their chances because they pushed forward and had good movement.
