The Simpsons - Last Exit to Springfield - "Dental plan...Lisa needs braces". Honorable Mention: Cape Feare, Homer goes to space,

People always seem to forget that episode. But honestly, you can just say everything from seasons 4-8 and most of the seasons that bookend that block (I can never remember if the show took off after the second or fourth season).

Any episode of Strangers with Candy, but if I had to pick: The Blank Stare pts 1 & 2.

The Cheers episode with Cliff on Jeopardy

Neptune 2000 from Chris Elliot's Get a Life

The Tammy episodes form Parks and Rec.

Any Seinfeld episode with lots of Neuman. Loved the dog-napping episode.

It's Always Sunny in Philadephia's The Nightman Cometh, The High School Reunion, Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person and Who Pooped the Bed.

WKRP In Cincinnati - Turkeys Away (this may be the best episode of any show)

30 Rock - Kidney Now! (Milton Greene, Milton Greene ..... and "I'm one of the drunk ones")

Big Bang Theory - The Convention Conundrum (final bit with JEJ and Carrie Fisher has me rolling every time)

Modern Family - My Funky Valentine (Intro Clive and Julianna)

I forgot about the Turkey episode!

And that is my favorite Big Bang episode as well, the one that shows the show was at times a bit more than the haters thought it was.

Ahh yeah, the Rye is definitely a classic. So is The Car Pool Lane that you listed in your post. I feel like we may have similar senses of humour. I'll have to check out The Injury again- it's been years since I've seen it, and I can't really remember it well.

It’s the one in S2 where Michael burns his foot on a George Foreman grill. He then holds one of his classic conference room meetings (including pictures!) to discuss people with disabilities.

This is so true. Even the opposite episode where he does the opposite of what he would normally do. There are so many Seinfeld ones to choose from, each one I see listed here makes me laugh a little when I remember it.

SHRINKAGE, THERE WAS DEFINITE SHRINKAGE!!!

Me too. Just thinking about every Costanza moment makes me laugh.

I don't know what to believe! You're eating onions, you're spotting dimes, I don't know what the hell is going on.

Agreed. Think this is exactly the sweet spot. Season 3 it was good but still too conventional a lot of the time (although Homer at the Bat is utterly fantastic). Season 9 it went too far the other way and lost all mooring in being even passingly realistic - the two Skinners episode? FFS

Fortunately, they surely must have righted the ship in the *checks calendar* 21 years since....

Motherboy XXX from Arrested Development will always be a personal favorite.  Buster's attempt to zipline is probably the hardest I have ever laughed at any sitcom.  Although I could probably make compelling arguments for about half the episodes in season two of Arrested Development.

Also that episode of Futurama with the dog.  It's both funny and soul-crushing.

Party Down 'Pilot' or 'Celebrate Ricky Sargulesh'

HIMYM - 'Slap Bet'

Seinfeld - the Bookman monologue. Just kills me every time.

Community - 'Modern Warfare' (first paintball episode)

Flight of the Conchords - 'Sally' (or really any of them)

Love 30 Rock, Parks & Rec and the Good Place but I'm not sure what the best episode was.

Dennis from 30 Rock might be my favorite terrible character from any sitcom.

This is a hard call, but I figure I'd list a few from Seinfeld, Frasier, The Office (US), and The Simpsons:

Seinfeld

There are too many to choose, but generally I prefer some of the earlier less "zany" episodes that focused more on things like waiting in a Chinese restaurant. So obviously "The Chinese Restaurant" is on my list, along with just about anything with Jerry's parents since they remind me so much of my grandparents. "The Pen" is a highlight there, along with the multi-episode arc from early season 4 involving "The Wallet" and "The Watch". While I'm at it, most of season 4 belongs on this list. After the off-kilter opener with the trip to LA, we go right into "The Pitch" with Jerry and George's NBC pilot and the introduction of Susan (Biddle) Ross. Later we meet George's parents for the first time (Estelle in "The Contest" and Frank - played by John Randolph! - in "The Handicap Spot"). This season also has recurring characters like Russell Dalrymple, Joe Davola, and a very real and spectacular Teri Hatcher. Other highlights include "The Movie", "The Bubble Boy", "The Airport", "The Outing" (not that there's anything wrong with that... ahhh the 90s), and "The Junior Mint".

Frasier:

Most any episode prior to Daphne and Niles getting together are best. While it was a well earned plot point, a lot of the tension in the show went out the window - and we ended up with way too many appearances of Daphne's mother at the expense of, say, Bulldog or Lilith. My favourites though are the "real-time" episodes. Season 1 ends with "My Coffee with Niles" where each Crane brother asks the other whether they're happy - the whole episode occurs at Nervosa as they shift from table to table to escape rain and hovering crowds. I don't know if they did it again until season 6's "Dinner Party" but it was worth the wait with an entire episode devoted to the planning of the titular party - it goes wrong before it even gets off the ground, unlike so many other prior "successes" (see "The Seal Who Came to Dinner", "Taps at the Montana" and many more). Another favourite is a "A Lilith Thanksgiving" where Frasier and Lilith endeavour to get Frederick into the fanciest, most elite private school in Boston.

The Office (US)

Fortunately this show still had lots of life in it even after Jim and Pam got together and I second everything said about "The Dinner Party". Hunter's music may be the best part, babe. Otherwise I love essentially every episode in seasons 2 and 3, most especially "Booze Cruise", "The Injury", "Casino Night", "A Benihana Christmas", "Grief Counseling", "The Convict", "Business School", and "The Job".

The Simpsons:

It's hard to believe this show has been on for 30 years, particularly since I haven't watched new episodes at all for the better part of my adult life. But seasons 2-7 or so remain classic and essential viewing, especially things like "Flaming Moe's", "Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk" (Or rather Burns verkauft den Kraftwerk...), "Homer at the Bat", "Kamp Krusty", "A Streetcar Named Marge", "Last Exit to Springfield"... well all of season 4. Looking through IMDB it's pretty hard to single out things in season 5 either. I generally am not aware of the existence of many episodes after season 12 or 13 (after 2002...).

For Arrested Development, I think I'd go with the ones where they go to Mexico to find George Sr. Mainly because of the Ann jokes (who?).

And, honestly, I can never watch Jurassic Bark again.

Don't forget "Steve Guttenberg's Birthday".

For Community it's either "Remedial Chaos Theory" or "Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design".

I was trying to think of an episode of Conhords to mention. I remember really liking The Tough Brets.

Underrated show that doesn’t get enough love.

Holy shit, I’ve seen every episode a million times, but I just had to look this up, and watch the original scene. I’ve only ever seen the version re-shot with Jerry Stiller. I’m glad they ended up recasting the part. Stiller’s Frank Costanza is one of my all time favorite characters.

Yes! My favourite episode too! Had me laughing for hours.

For other sitcoms, you may also try The Office, Parks and Rec, and The Big Bang Theory.

Niles Crane had the physical comedy masterpiece where he was ironing, cooking, bleeding, fainting, etc. with the dog watching.

Arrested Development.    Pop Pop is released from jail to play God in the park then runs for it while never-nudes are introduced as a faction

King of Queens , 30 Rock , and Malcolm in the Middle had some great ones.    Blooklyn Nine Nine tries pretty consistently.   Seinfeld made Kramer a pimp one time.

Friends succeeded sometimes but i forget with what.     Phoebe?

Some stuff clogging the dvr  - - - -

Reno 911.   Dangle's Wedding pt.1 ;  Weigel's Pregnant; Tanning Booth Incident

Community.   First Chang Dynasty; Fist full of paintballs; For a few paintballs more.

Futurama.  In- a- gadda- da- Leela (the most elaborate attempt to get into anyone's pants, ever);  Holiday Spectacular;  the Day the Earth Stood Stupid.   (also the one when they traveled the whole timeline after Fry is really late for his date with Leela.)  (Also other ones.)

New Girl.   See Ya (the one mentioned above);   Landing Gear (schmitt's wedding prelims).

Something I forgot earlier was Silicon Valley, the one where they do the math to see the best way to jerk a whole room of people off. Then it turns out that the math they figured out in the episode was accurate per a team at Stanford.

I didn't even think about that.  The one where it turns out Hal burned the coach while sneaking a cigar, and the one where Hal rents a steamroller just to smash stuff both immediately come to mind.
