Iskaral Pust
Why are Liverpool so ropey in CL group games? It was like this last year too. Our league form was great, and our CL knock-outs went pretty smoothly. The CL group games and domestic cup games don’t get our best work. At least we rediscovered our scoring touch. Now we just need to remember that excellent game management we used to have.

Jordan La Cabra
That was a very important win for Chelsea, having lost the opening group game at home to Valencia. In the first half, we were unable to keep the ball for extended periods because of how well Lille were able to press, but in the second half we grew more into the game and were able to play, without playing excellent, either. I was very impressed by Abraham's performance. He took his goal well, but it was his hold up and link up play that stood out; he was so good with his back to play. Defensively, he is very important for Chelsea in our own box when we try to defend corners and with his mobility and ability to press high up the pitch. He may have had games where he scored braces and a hat trick for us this season, but last night was probably his most impressive performance all round. What a player Tomori is, too. Defensively, he has been our best centre back this season. He has strength, exceptional speed for a centre back and good reading of the game. Even on the ball, he has the ability to play a pass, like the brilliant ball he played in for Abraham's goal. A lot of the younger players at Chelsea have been standing out this season, but one player that has really impressed in the last few games has been Willian. His work ethic and his running on the ball seems to have gone up a level this season.

In the 2nd half, Barca outclassed them.

But not sanctioning a clear penalty for Inter, heck, not even bother to check VAR, that says everything. Inter dropped in quality in second half, but it doesn't mean that they should be punished for it by the ref. Barcelona were far worse in the first half. I agree on one thing: you use all your chances on Camp Nou. This is what Alexis himself said. Inter didn't do it.

Instead he was incorrectly called offside and there was no VAR review either. Then Inter's only goal of the match stemmed from an incorrectly awarded free-kick for a foul by Lenglet. Replays showed that Sanchez wasn't actually fouled but rather slipped when turning. The ref was poor but I still maintain that he was poor for both sides. A friend of mine, a United supporter, said Fred had a shocker against Rochdale in the LC recently. That’s 50 million worth of midfielder who really needs to be coached and played up to match readiness. Naby Keita has had some bad luck with injuries but at least he had some good form when he was healthy for a run of games. Seems likely that United will be desperate for a new striker in January. Especially if they keep playing Rashford while he’s carrying an injury. Who do you think they will get taken to the cleaners for?

I think we'll get an old temporary option in January tbh, and make the big signing in summer. There's been rumours about Mandzukic. Then in summer we'll spend 80mil on Haller, or chase around trying to get Erling Haaland, pissing the fans off coz of the City connect, get rejected, and get Pukki instead for 40mil. Still think creativity is the major problem though. Like, obviously we do need strikers but we know Martial can score given opportunities and indications and word are Greenwood can too - but look how little he got of the fucking ball in AZ's area tonight. Was downright embarassing. Literally one really great creative player and he's playing deeper because we dont' have a controlling midfielder either. Verrrrrrrrrry early days obviously but Martinelli looks super (extremely sharp playing on the turn, Lewandowski-style) and in Saka it looks like you might have found a genuine star. Obviously for both of them things will be different when teams actually know to prepare for them and how, but both show signs of game maturity you rarely see at that age, especially Saka. Willock also seems to be doing his level best to make sure y'all don't miss Ramsey at all...
Consigliere
At least Arsenal fans have something to shout about. We just have mediocrity to look forward to week-in and week-out. The standard of coaching at United is shockingly bad. McKenna has never coached beyond U18 football and Carrick has fuck all experience - this is exacerbated by having a manager who is totally out of his depth as well. The football is even worse than it was under Mourinho (first two seasons) and the tactical and fitness expertise among the coaching staff is League 1 level at best. It's been a long time since crosses from the left actually found someone in the box. It looks like Emery has found a decent balance in the midfield when playing the kids (Ceballos, Torreira, Willock), a balance he can't find with the senior team (Guendouzi, Xhaka, X). As excited as I am to watch them play is about as indifferent as I am to watch the first team.
