Thorn should actually be out this year though, unless i am mistaken. Isn’t it actually with the editors this time?

I’m looking forward to Eragon in Space!

Spoiler

Kidding, of course :P

The two i am looking forward to are the second in Abercrombie’s new series and also Sooty Feathers #2.

I would also like to see Robin Hobb/Meghan Lindholm publish something but haven’t heard that she is working on anything currently

It is meant to have been handed in so I would think it should be sometimes in 2020 even if we don't know when yet.

For other continuing series I'm also looking forward to Abercrombie's next book, the new Peter Grant book and Robert Jackson Bennett's sequel to Foundryside.

I'm also intrigued by Susanna Clarke's new novel.

I'm sure Adrian Tchaikovsky will probably have written another 4 or 5 books at least.

Do we think we're going to get the ninth Expanse book in 2020?

As of now most excited for Mirror and the Light by Hilary Mantel and the 2nd age of madness book by Abercrombie.
Winds would be cool.

Forgot about Mirror and the Light! Very excited for that too. Waterstones have been advertising it pretty heavily since September/October here! (At least my local branch)

Something worth getting excited about: Ricardo Pinto will be re-releasing his Stone Dance of the Chameleon series in seven slim volumes. (The books were initially released as three big novels in the late 90s and early 00's; The Chosen, The Standing Dead, and The Third God.)

He's written about it a bit at his blog: https://www.ricardopinto.com/2019/11/06/stonedance-proofs/

(The comments sections are adorable - particularly when he starts bantering with his brother.)

Given how much of an improvement The Monster Baru Cormorant was over The Traitor, The Tyrant by Seth Dickinson is worth getting a bit excited for. Due in June it looks like.

We should get Dresden Files Peace Talks next year too, though I don't believe a date is set.

Most anticipated SFF books in 2020 according to tor.com:

https://www.tor.com/2019/11/26/the-25-most-anticipated-sff-books-of-2020/#more-524115

The recommendation text snippets are rather cringeworthy, for some reason, but all in all a decent overview. I am interested to various degrees in maybe half of the featured books.

You mean you weren’t a fan of this ringing endorsement?

Do I have to say anything other than hot lady orcs to get you interested in this one? No, I didn’t think so.

JV Jones and Susanna Clarke would be the ones I'm anticipating most.

I would expect a new Michelle West Essalieyan book in 2021, but a new prequel series set in the Cast world and featuring Severn as the MC will begin in September 2020.

That Tor list had some interesting books.  Paolini sells well, doesn't he?  He'll be pushed by Tor.  The blurbs are pretty funny.  It hurts my head when I see someone actually write out 'hella'.  To be true it hurts my head to hear it spoken aloud as well.

I am apparently out of the loop as far as English fantasy goes, so I am just patiently waiting for the new Moers - Die Insel der 1000 Leuchttürme ("Island of 1000 lighthouses") sounds like a very intriguing title to me, and I cannot wait to read that.

Spoiler

Although after the last two books, I feel that the time has come for the  Mythenmetz-saga to finish and give room to a new protagonist.
