Remember when they used to be really difficult opponents?

Come on lads... it's Spurs.

Anyway shouldn't read much into our performance vs Norwich coz they're the team most set up to make us look good but Matic has done the job since needing to come back in and Fred is looking increasingly confident McTominayless so that's positive. The one worry is that Mata's performance might make Solskjaer think he should be in consideration to start in the same position (right wing) against Liverpool and really he shouldn't unless James is completely knackered still.

It would make more sense to start with Mata against Wolves and give James a rest or have Rashford and James split the game time against Wolves since Solskjaer will definitely name the best starting XI he has available which is unfortunate since Maguire could use a rest as well. We are only going to see 25-30% possession against Liverpool so James's pace on the counter will be far more useful.

Bloody hell, this having a flying start to the league and a big lead at the top is properly stressful.

Pretty sure you can't even refer to it as a 'flying start' when the season's more than halfway over and it's still going on. At that point it's just 'flying'.

Gonna be tight but I think that KDB will break Henry’s assist record. He needs 7 in his next 16 1/2 games. His form is incredible.

kinda weird/coincIdental that this year Liverpool will most likely win the title with a City player winning poty when it was the opposite the last two seasons.

Yeah, it is really quite poor the way Valverde has been treated. It has become even more of a mess now that possible replacements have said no as well: reportedly Xavi declined to take over mid season but is still open to taking over at the end of the season and apparently Koeman rejected an offer as well.

Word coming from the Catalan media now is that Bartomeu has already informed Valverde of his sacking and the board are still deciding whether they want someone to come in on an interim basis or make a permanent appointment. In case of the former, the coach of Barca's B team ( Francisco Pimienta) is the most likely candidate and in the case of the latter, Pochettino is said to be Bartomeu's preferred candidate.

Reports that Barca's board meeting has concluded and official confirmation of Valverde's sacking will be announced soon. Also Quique Setién has reportedly emerged as the favourite to take over. According to Gerard Romero his agent is already in Barcelona.

Barca appoint Setién on a two-and-a-half year contract. Could work out as Setién does play the type of football that Barca fans have been crying out for. He hasn't shown himself to be a very good defensive coach though - in his last two managerial stints, he had Las Palmas and Real Sociedad playing some lovely attacking football but they leaked a lot of goals. I expect Barca will be much more entertaining to watch under Setién.

Bouhafsi reporting that Chelsea and Inter are close to reaching an agreement for Giroud expected to be around €6.5m. Romano reported earlier that Inter have made an £8.5m offer for Eriksen as well (Spurs are reportedly holding out for around £20m). Inter are also close to finalising a swap deal with Roma for Spinazzola with Politano heading the other way.

Lyon's president has also reiterated that Moussa Dembele will not be sold in January.
