Anthony Appleyard
When Danaerys brought the Dothraki army over in ships from Essos, which port did they sail from? Is there a clue where in Westeros they landed?

If the showrunners had the hardest time making characters make sense, why would you think they would get a handle on logistical worldbuilding? [sarcasm ended] No, but seriously, this is another one of the many problems in seasons 7 and 8. No one knows. Not even the showrunners.
Lord Lannister
Eh, how and why really don't matter. All that matters is they are a plot device to show Dany is powerful. Full with respawning at need. I guess it's reasonable to guess they sailed from Mereen. Where they landed in Westeros... may as well ask how the Unsullied managed to return from Casterly Rock with no apparent losses while you're at it.
