Why didn't Bran say anything?

Recommended Posts

So Bran can see that the Wall fell at the end of last season and Cersei went back on her word. Why didn't he say anything to Sansa (to give an example)? He only pipes up when everybody arrives. If he'd spoken up maybe the people at Last Hearth would still be alive.

Because that would be useful and Bran wasn't allowed to be useful in Season 8.

Why can't he be useful?

The plot required him to avoid passing on that knowledge, much like Tyrion suddenly dropping in IQ in Season 7 so that the Lannisters could eliminate the advantages Dany and Co. brought with them. If there needs to be an IC reason for why - well maybe like Doctor Strange in Infinity Wars he could only see one way for the living to defeat the dead and that required him to take the actions (or lack of actions) he did.

For a more meta reason, well the show runners have said that they weren't fans of the supernatural elements of the story, for them it was a narrative about power. Since Bran's story was particularly wrapped up in the supernatural it was given the short end of the stick during the early part of Season 8, most of the stuff around Winterfell focused on other characters that the show runners were more invested in. So Bran got the act weird, talk to Sam about Jon, and stare down Jaime Lannister and that's it.

Likely because things were playing out exactly how Treeboy wanted them to.

Now they control the fate of humanity in Westeros.

Interesting...

Pretty much how I see it. This was the way for Treeboy or 3ER to the throne. And he guided events in that direction. The topic question in itself is incorrect since it implies that Bran actually still exists. Which we know he doesn't (Treeboy told us enough times he isn't Bran).

So to answer the question, Bran didn't say anything because Bran is dead or only alive as part of a hive-mind of thousands or more which is as close to 'non-existent' as you can get.

Yea, one might even consider him to represent an aspect of the Many-Faced God.
Which might imply that Bran is now just another dead face being worn by the trees.

The only semi logical reason I can think of (as a few others touched on) is that in order for the desired results to occur, Night King destroyed,  Cersei dead, Dany killed, and Jon out of the picture, Bran has to say as little as possible.
