When I read the title of this post my initial assumption was that you'd be asking WHY they didn't fight each other and instead Maekar let Bloodraven stay on as Hand. I myself wonder about that. I feel pretty confident that Bloodraven knew exactly what his destiny was once he started having greendreams and conversing with the current three eyed raven.
