If Rhaegar had won, would he have been loved or hated?

Really?? Not Darry or Mootons??

Why bother then?? Just send them to the wall.

A writ of attainder takes away their lands but not their noble status.  They have to be given time to grow up by their standards before sending them to the wall.  The Tyrells seem like fair people and the Greyjoys were not that involved in the war.  They can behave with objectivity towards the boys and give them a chance to have good memories before sending them off to a lifetime of responsibility.  They are too young to hold responsible for what their families did.

The Goodbrooks were wronged by Hoster.  Very much wronged by Hoster.

They weren't wronged, they were killed in action, both the Darrys and Mootons are more powerful and better bood than them.

So, you want to double punish them... You not only attaint them and pretend to send them to the wall but also you pretend then to develop good memories them and then send then to Siberia... That's cold.

Dornish may be progressive but not progressive enough to swallow all of that

Not to mention on top of all the shame and insults, Rhaegar has also produced at least one child that could usurp the claims of Elia's children. People have not forgotten the Blackfyres. And since Jon's mother was a member of a Great House, if the Starks remain in power in the North then Jon and any of his siblings could end up being a greater threat than Daemon ever was.

Yup. Oberyn is unmarried and has no male heirs yet not even he asked for legitimization of his bastards.
