SHAME!

But no the Baratheon's are doomed and have been from the start - They're tragic by design. Remove any of the major character flaws from Robert/Stannis/Renly and they likely would have been unstoppable. This is the tragedy of their story. Needlessly isolated in a time where cooperation was so important. Had any of the two brothers been more closely aligned, more willing to work with each other they're probably still in power.

Robert's drunkenness and ignorance, Stannis' bitterness and stubborness, Renly's vanity and arrogance - They all played their part in the destruction of the family.

I doubt it. Edric will probably be legitimized.

It would not have been so bad if they only destroyed the Baratheon family.  They messed up Westeros.  Robert took over a prospering kingdom and it's drowning in debt within a few years.

Bobby B took over a kingdom after a bloody civil war that divided the continent in half..... So, What "prospering" kingdom??

By who? And why?

The only scenario where Stannis does it is after he's defeated and broken. Aegon and Dany have absolutely no reason to give anything to the Baratheons, particularly one so fond of Robert.

On the other hand he did rid the realm of Targaryens so it is even-Steven.

In that there's plenty of blame to go round.

Also they're not the only family who's instability has destroyed them. The Lannisters would have comfortably seen out this war had they not been such a mess.

Because they need someone to rule the Stormlands? It’s entirely possible for Dany or Aegon to understand that a son isn’t responsible for the crimes of his father (and Roberts Rebellion was completely justified anyways). Moreover, Edric is a recognized bastard of Robert Baratheon with noble parents on both sides. He’s educated, he never misses out on his training, he looks like Robert and Renly and according to Stannis, he has their charm as well. Robert and Renly were beloved. If Stannis and Shireen do die, it’s very likely that Edric will get Storms End. Not unlike Gendry did in the show.

Prospering Kingdom? Sure. Let’s go with that. It wasn’t torn by a Civil War started by the Targaryens under a mad tyrant that tried to burn half a million people in their capital city alive.

They're idiots by design.  Robert was being cuckolded beneath his nose by the very man he chose to keep on his Kingsguard.  His kingdom got slyly taken away from him by the Lannister twins, of all people.  Jaime and Cersei aren't the smartest of people but they outwitted Robert.  Wasn't hard to do.

There isn't going to be a next Baratheon lord of Storm's End.  Westeros will experience a long freeze.  Stannis is a fake Azor Ahai and he will pay for that deception.  The Targaryens and their allies will take control of the Storm Lands.  A Baratheon is not needed.  Gendry is not going to rule anything.  His job as a blacksmith is to forge weapons.  Maybe he will forge the equivalent of Valyrian Steel and has to kill Arya to do it.  But there is no reason at all to remove his bastard status.

They can’t be that stupid. They managed to topple a 300 year old dynasty and conquer a continent the size of South America.

Means nothing.  Samwell Tarly had sex.  Even a blind squirrel will occasionally find a nut.

It’s not a one off. They seemed to have a record of producing great warriors and they’re one of only two families to conquer Westeros. The other one needed dragons to do it. The Baratheons did it with a warhammer.

The Targaryens held their kingdom together for a lot of those 300 years without dragons.  The Baratheons didn't last two decades.

They held the Kingdom together, because they’d already had well over a century of rule. They were established and people just accepted that they were Kings. If the Baratheons are idiots, what does that say about the Targaryens. They were crushed. The Blackfyres tried to topple the Targaryens around 5 times. The Baratheons tried once and succeeded.

On the other hand he did kill that boar too, so again even Steven.

Even Steven indeed.  Robert's life was the equivalent of a wild boar's.  That would make Robert's value equivalent to that of a pulled pork barbecue sandwich and a side of greasy chips in today's money.
