Who else did Conte even want?! It’s like he picked all the best known names from the Prem and got them in.

Who the fuck knows? Conte is combative and always looking to pick a fight with his board - he did it at Juve, Chelsea and now Inter. It was only at Chelsea where you could say that he had a genuine grievance with the board.

Schwolow's (Freiburg) move to Schalke has fallen thru. Schalke failed to find the 8m € for his release clause, and since he grew tired of it, he has decided to move to Hertha Berlin instead. Guess that's it for Jarstein.

And another WC winner retired this summer.

After the Germans Schürrle and Höwedes, Spain's Cassilas has called it quits.

The playoff final is usually cagey and dull given what's at stake. Unfortunate for Brentford but Fulham have been the better side. Brentford will now have the worst ever record in playoff campaigns - nine campaigns, six finals and zero promotions.

ETA. Brentford manage a consolation. Fulham's more experienced squad coped with the occasion better than the Brentford player's did. Scott Parker has done at excellent job at Fulham especially considering the state of the side when he took over.

Last I heard was that £200 odd million still has to be returned to UK broadcasters but there was an agreement reached to defer payment of up to £170m until the 2021/2022 season. Sky reportedly agreed to pay the broadcast rights fees for the 2021/2022 season on schedule and then claim the deferred payment at a later date. The Athletic reported a while back that around £107m owed to non UK broadcasters had to be repaid by the end of July.

These proposed changes are ultimately about ensuring we take this great football club forward, creating the right organisation for a post-Covid world, and ensuring we have the resources to return to competing effectively at the top of the game here and in Europe.

Presenting this as a step to ensure that the club can invest in the team and stay competitive is shameful.

Not a fan at all.

55 normal people salaries don't even amount to all that much in football terms.

Say if those 55 people are support staff earning £25k a year on average, Arsenal are only going to claw back ~£1.4m. Which is the equivalent of a month of Mesut Ozil sitting at home scratching his balls.

I agree in principal but the Ozil thing is a distraction, imo. It's the owners and the executive team we should demand more of

Starting to look like the speculation that Sanllehi and Edu are dismantling the club's scouting structure in order to implement agent-led recruitment might actually be true. Apparently Kia Joorabchian is going to have a lot of influence on Arsenal's recruitment which is why you guys have been so strongly linked with moves for Willian and Coutinho.

He also brokered our deal with Everton when we sold Iwobi.

I trust no one in our set up at the moment - except Arteta. And he will walk away from the club if he is surrounded by incompetence. Would love to hear from the executive team and the board about how firing our scouts and signing Kia's players helps in 'outsmarting the market' ( those are Sanllehi's words)

Sure, not trying to blame Ozil for anything, just using him as an example of how little 55 people's wages actually matters as far as players go - if they'd kept the 55 people in employment it would basically make no difference to the playing side of things.
