I am holding out hope that the NFL is watching MLB and NBA as guinea pigs and will take lessons from both to make their season work. yeah...desperate hope...

I'd say the chances have to be less than 1 and 10 that the NFL will be able to complete a season.

He opted out of the season, apparently. Curious about the 'didn't report, whereabouts unknown' angle.

Well. He ghosted them.

What a bizarre little drama.

At least we have a few shreds of highlights like this to remember whatever this season ends up being by...

My Mets fan buddy had a mini-meltdown over the weekend. I can’t see the season going much longer(more Cardinals test positive, Votto showing symptoms), but I love how it’s already long enough for Mets to do their thing. This Cespedes thing is just the cherry on top.

Tyler Alexander of the Tigers K’s 9 straight in a relief appearance to tie an AL record.

ETA: I don’t mind the extra innings rule. I thought I would hate it but it actually makes things more exciting and saves a lot of innings for the relievers. The season is so damn long as it is. I wouldn’t want it in the playoffs though.

MY buddy and I were watching the Tigers games and it was pretty cool watching him fan 9 in a row, then have two 7 inning games was a little weird because it changed bullpen strategy and starter length. And of course Detroit lost both games...sigh

So rumor is the Cards’ covid outbreak is due to some of the players hitting up a casino. Real classy Cards.

Yep, and 6 of the 7 came forward to announce they contracted it and apologized. Carlos Martinez also just happens to have been put on the DL with an Illness. Look, I'm sure he has a legitimate reason for not naming himself when 6 hours later it became obvious, but I an irrational sports fan, I'm sick of his performance - though he was fire as a reliever for awhile - and I don't like him. So screw you Carlos, you aren't worth 15 million since you cannot use your tremendous skillset to succeed as a starter, and now you came off like a coward or unrepentant or both.

Hey everything is OK again though on Friday, we can play again! I'm curious which team has an outbreak next, or if we and the Marlins were simply the only dipshits to get caught being in unsafe conditions like goddamn Nelly concert at a casino, which is the current local rumor now.

Yanks demoted Andujar today.  Completely understandable, but still quite disappointing considering how promising his rookie year was (as a hitter).  They also sent down Estrada and Nelson as the rosters are shrinking by two.  That leaves one spot open.  Hm..mayhaps a Chapman return?
