So even though PT wasn't exactly what readers wanted it to be, people still lined up to buy the sequel. I am deeply happy for Jim Butcher and rejoice in his success after a long absence. I'm glad the books have sold well, but in some ways the test of how happy his readers were with the two books will be how well his next book sells? I've read Codex and the Aeronaut's Windlass but I don't get the sense either series did particularly well.
Lord Patrek
The last three Codex books were all NYT bestsellers, as was The Aeronaut's Windlass, both in hardcover and paperback. Not as popular as the Dresden Files, but they still sold more than most SFF works out there. If I'm not mistaken (might be one or two books off the mark), Butcher's last 15 hardcover titles all made it on the NYT list. That's REALLY impressive!
