BigFatCoward
Drawing with Man Utd, how utterly embarrassing, I may have to avoid the board for a while if this continues.
Soylent Brown
That penalty should never have been given. Good on Fernandes for giving the keeper a chance, that's real sportsmanship.

Consigliere
Well, I wasn't expecting that. Newcastle crumbled a bit at the end there. Bruno's goal was a quality finish preceded by some excellent build up. I really do think that we are better as a counter attacking side. It's a bit easier to set up in a deeper block and play on the counter rather than a high line with fullbacks pushed up which also requires implementing a very effective pressing system. The latter is what Solskjaer wants to play but it's beyond his skill-set to set the team up to effectively play that way.
polishgenius
We're an excellent counter-attacking team. What we don't really have is a way to lure teams into giving us the space if they just decide they'll sit in. We have been much better at breaking through anyway since Bruno arrived, mind you. ljkeane
We talked a bit the other week about whether the Villa game had ruined Liverpool fans’ week and it hadn’t for me. I have to say I think yesterday’s game has. Fucking Pickford puts in a horrific challenge, probably ruins Liverpool’s season and somehow gets away with it. Then there’s the last minute offside. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it now and I still can’t see it. There’s no way that isn’t within the margin of error of the technology. So Pickford gets away with it again. The Winged Shadow
It's only 5 games in. I am not too fussed. The performances have been pretty good so far this season, with the exception of Villa. I'd be worried if City was pulling ahead by winning all games, but so far they've also struggled a little. I am not too worried about Everton's good start (or Villas), as I have zero doubt that they won't be able to string together the type of winning streaks that Liverpool/City/Chelsea put together in the previous seasons. I doubt Liverpool will be able to put together a long winning streak this season either, specially with Ali and Virg out (for a quite a while by the sounds of it). Hopefully City can't do it either, so this season could be a super tight title race! edit: Are Isk and Rorschach scousers? I am liking the spicyness

AncalagonTheBlack
Latest on VVD and Thiago: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-injury-update-van-dijk-19124381 Quote Liverpool send Virgil van Dijk to specialist over injury but remain hopeful for Thiago Alcantara.Van Dijk will visit a specialist on Sunday as the Reds try to get a clearer picture of the defender's injury. Anfield sources have admitted they are concerned about what might await them in the findings of a consultant, but are refusing to speculate about potential timeframes of absence for Van Dijk. Suggestions that Van Dijk could miss the rest of the season through the injury have been viewed dimly inside the club as they await more information of the Netherlands captain's problem. The ECHO understands that speculative claims on Saturday night that Van Dijk could miss between seven and eight months are seen as unhelpful at this stage from a Liverpool perspective. Meanwhile, the Premier League champions are more hopeful on the prognosis of Thiago Alcantara. It is understood that Liverpool are optimistic the injury to the former Bayern Munich star is not serious. Daemon the Leaner
OMG Lanzini. This Spurs team indeed looks a bit like United in 17/18. Great spells and players in exciting form, but not so much of actual good build-up play and in the end it always gets bitter.
