That tends to happen. It was definitely enjoyable and the action sequences were well done. It was also pretty forgettable and in the end I felt like I'd just watched a good Black Mirror episode more than anything. It was described to me as "a better Venom." Nictarion
S3 of Suburra was a wild ride. I hadn’t realized it was the final season, even when they killed off Samurai in the 1st episode. But once Aureliano got killed in the finale it was obvious this was it though. They really ended up doing their own thing independently of the film. This was in no way a prequel series. Mr. Chatywin et al.
Ocean's Eleven (Clooney/Pitt version) is damn near perfect.
williamjm
I watched one of the late Sean Connery's most famous films, Goldfinger. In some ways it is the quintessential Bond film - the gadgets, the Shirley Bassey theme tune, the Aston Martin, "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die", Oddjob and his deadly hat. It is a lot of fun although I think it does suffer a bit compared to the previous film From Russia With Love in terms of the story and characters, and Kentucky isn't as interesting a setting as Istanbul. Each episode was so intense that I watched only one per view / night, so finished last night. The intensity ratcheted as the 6 episodes continued. I’m glad it could see it in a week, because that real intensity would have been lost if I saw only one per week. Spoiler It’s the women who are left. And the official corrupts, like Cinchilla or whatever his name is whoever he started to be but ended up killing his wife to save himself for power and wealth, and the Vatican. The Church is always left standing even all else goes down.
RumHam
oh shit Jim Jarmusch made a zombie movie with Bill Murry? I'm not far into it but it's pretty great so far.

Mr. Chatywin et al.
I haven't looked at movies on demand in a while. Is everything like $10-$20 now? And I'm not just including new movies, like everything.....

BigFatCoward
Finished Schitts creek, very much enjoyed it. Veltigar
I saw the second Borat this weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Not as good as the original, which had the power of that first impact, but certainly one of the better comedy sequels I have ever seen. In fact, Borat 2 is well worth watching on its own terms even if you haven't seen the first one which is as big of a compliment as I could give this type of film. I'd love for Borat to come back in 15 years again really. Spoiler My favorite part was the Justin Trudeau joke in the beginning and the Cinderella rendition of Melania's life. All in all I'm in awe of Cohen in this (and the actress playing his daughter). I could see myself hanging from an airplace Tom Cruise style or doing a bunch of insane stuff, but I'd never be able to pull this kind of consistent cringe comedy off. Also saw the first two episodes of The Mandolorian. A big improvement over season 1 imo so far, so I'll keep watching.

Really enjoyed it, it’s a true feel good show and that never put me off. It did actually get better as it went on, even though I liked it straight away. I think one thing that really made it stand out was David and Patrick’s relationship. Even if I never liked the guy playing Patrick ( he got better and grew into it, but his non threatening bland smile never really went away) I think their relationship was beautifully written and was cheesy in all the right places. Most importantly, as a relationship between two gay characters it was fantastic that it was written as just being excepted, it wasn’t constantly clouded by homophobia or bad reaction, something I expected from that small town. That was quite inspiring and it meant the show wasn’t preachy or trying to throw its message in your face. It was very inspiring.
RedEyedGhost
I've been jonesing it recently, and having never rewatched any of it I felt it was time to give Boardwalk Empire another viewing. Two episodes down, really looking forward to the ride. On 11/5/2020 at 7:07 AM, Vaughn said: If you enjoy the pod, How Did This Get Made did an episode on 'Bloodshot' a while back. I believe Adam Scott was the guest as the go-to Vin Diesel expert. Speaking of Adam Scott, just rewatched most of 'Party Down' again. So great. I should check out iZombie I guess since I liked Party Down and Veronica Mars and it's a lot of the same people behind the show, but it just never sounded that interesting to me for some reason. I really enjoy iZombie, Ravi is fantastic.

DireWolfSpirit
Through S3 on a rewatch/journey of all 5 seasons of the Wire, funny how my memory had been off on how certain scenes unfolded after these many years. Needless to mention it's been a very enjoyable (re)ride thus far. I also quickly consumed the final season of Blood on Suburra. Will add am now jonesing for more Gomora and Bad Blood. And finally, excited to imagine what wondrous new cinematography may come from new space films on the ISS and tentacles- https://thehill.com/opinion/technology/525002-nasas-international-space-station-is-about-to-become-a-film-location
