How did Tywin manage to ship to westeros the brave companions,Tyrosh free riders and other free comanies/sellswords without alerting anyone to his actions since it seem suspicious that Tywin managed to get his free companies and sellswords just in time for war of five kings

good question! and what port did they use? Lannisport seems like a time wasting choice, but any other seems impossible. Maybe KL, but Stannis could have prevented it. ANd how did he get in touch with them?

In AGoT he orders Kevan to send the Mountain, Lorch, and the Bloody Mummers to rape and ravage and burn the Riverlands. There’s no discussion of how they got there, but the way Tywin talks makes it sound like they were already in his employ.

He might have been quietly preparing for a power grab. Robert was driving the kingdoms into financial ruin, his court was full of spies and plotters, and now in comes Ned Stark to upset the balance. It makes sense that he’d brace himself.

Plus, we don’t know when those mercenaries actually showed up. Maybe they’ve been in Westeros for years, finding modest employment until Tywin gave them something to do?

Yeah. And, c’mon, we’re talking about Tywin. So he might very well be preparing for something (nasty). I mean, anything happens to Robert and he’s likely going to be Joff’s regent, right?

I suppose it’s possible... not sure how expensive they’d be? Or if they’re perhaps a tad too conspicuous to go unnoticed?

With Tywin being Tywin I wouldn’t find it unbelievable if he had the Bloody Mummers on retainer.

that's interesting if they are Dornish agents

Not even necessarily a power grab, it was possible that Tywin thought Robert might choose him as Hand. But if not...

Then, Tywin could have sent for them as soon as either Jon Arryn died or Robert decided on Ned or Robert started the trip north to get Ned. That leaves potentially months to get the Mummers to Westeros.

ETA: Or Martin just wanted the Mummers to be there for plot.

Given that they’re not particularly numerous, militarily efficient, or respectable, I highly doubt that they can demand the Golden Company’s wages.

They're roughly 100 men or so, right? I agree that they're not going to be as expensive as the GC. Still, they're very "visible".

Why the Brave companions out of all the fee companies/sellswords?

I guess the same reason he seems to really like Clegane, it frightens the enemy knowing what could happen to them if they are taken prisoners by such men, and a frighten enemy is worse at fighting. It also gives him some sort of deniability, he didn't do those atrocities, The Mummers, Clegane and Lorch did.

Because he is Tywin Lannister.

I agree up to the bolded. Everyone and their dogs know Gregory and Lorch are Lannister men, same as everyone knew the Bloody Mummers were working for him. He can't deny that, but worse, I doubt he wants to. Tywin loves to instill fear in others, and he very much wants everyone to know what will happen to them if they cross him. We can argue that he has a degree of deniability because he can claim he didn't know these monsters would go as far as they've gone. Like he did irt Rhaenys and Aegon and Elia. But it's just for show, it's all bs and everyone knows it.

They’re visible, sure, but who cares about a hundred glorified criminals if they’re wandering around being escorts or bodyguards? Sure, if they’re committing crimes in a time of peace, they’re in trouble, but maybe they’re the kind of men who are as savage as their society allows them to be, or else how could they have been doing this for so long?

I really think this is an oversight on GRRMs part, either that or they were already in country and there's opportunity for soldiering in Westeros we just don't hear about because it's not important. Tywin really had no reason to be bringing sellswords over from Essos at that point and I doubt he'd be bringing small sellsword companies to Lannisport were he secretly preparing for war anyway, why do something so obviously suspicious for so little gain.

Thank you! For bringing this subject up. It’s very shocking to me to see so many people just say Martins plot needed it and dismiss it. The author counts on his readers doing exactly this. This is how he fools us.
Reread the part where the witnesses come before Ned to testify against the mountain. And remember the three little pigs houses. It was the wolf that huffed and puffed.

It’s almost like this game was already set up to begin with pieces in place. Like Malister nods to Catelyn before she gets to the tavern where she encounters Tyrion and sell swords
