Yeah, I think most networks will wait for more of ballots to come in before calling PA. It's obvious it'll happen, and some places like DecisionDesk have already called it, but I get wanting to hedge for now. Hopefully enough come in later today for networks to make the call.

Ok, wait a second.

I was watching Squawk Box on CNBC and they interrupted the broadcast with the news that NBC was calling Biden President Elect, and now  the guys on Opening Bell are contradicting this.

:dunno:

They're going to call it, probably soon, but I think they haven't fully committed. They're probably waiting for the lead to widen a bit more in Pennsylvania.

Refraining from calling it seems like a political decision, not a math decision. The outcome is perfectly clear but they are bending over backwards to appear 'fair.'

I'm like 2 threads behind at this point, but all credit to the huge number of people that have worked their asses off for 4 years to bring this about. The work is far from over but there's time to celebrate this. Just need to make sure he doesn't burn everything down on his way out, the most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive relationship is when she leaves after all.

I'm so fucking glad to be wrong.

I'd anticipate most of Trump's energy going into spurious lawsuits over the result, at least for the first few weeks, which might help to minimise the damage he can do. But there's going to be zero handover to the incoming administration, who'll likely have to force Trump and his team to pass on critical documents and give access.

Feeling absolutely elated right now. I think we've all been waiting for PA to turn blue for the last couple of days.

This is the first step of many to end the nightmare. There are still many fights ahead (this battle will continue in the courts, the Supreme Court might intervene, the Senate may remain Republican, 2022 and 2024 will be tough... ).

But seven hells, seeing those states turn blue feels good.

Less 'fair' I think and more concern that a math error might get caught before the rest of the ballots get counted. It'd look real embarrassing if networks called it, then Trump got back in the lead by a few hundred votes because something was double-counted; even if Biden still ends up winning by 80k+ before provisionals.

I doubt there's any errors like that at this point (and if there are, they probably won't get caught until any recount), usually that kind of thing happens election night itself when everything is moving so quickly, but I get wanting things to be a bit more clear. Fox may need to call it quickly though, since NV will probably be called after the next batch of ballots is released, and I doubt Fox wants to call the election based on their premature AZ call.

Why can't the fake news media just let him have his say?

That guy legitimately does the best Trump impersonation I've ever seen. No one has ever been able to capture Trump's batshit insane stream-of-consciousness ramblings like this guy.

He has one where he's talking about Pokémon Go that is just hysterical.

I imagine they're waiting until they start getting updates from Allegheny County.
