We’ve had the Koch brothers for that, things just don’t work the same on the left as they do on the right.

Koch brother now, but you’re right. The mindless fearmongering tends to go one way. It’s why the sweeping attack of “socialism” still works despite House Republicans agreeing to the “socialism” and now McConnell has blocked it leaving the GA senators in a lurch because they know those GA voters what “socialism.”

It’s pretty amazing to me how pissed off the Trumponites are about the $600 fuck you Republicans have seen fit to dole out to us plebeians. I thought it would take more for 40 years of economic brainwashing to be flushed down the drain.

Look for yourself. It's the thread between "Covid is a Worldwide Government Conspiracy to Cover Up the UFO Footage" and "Liberals Will Outlaw Meat Under Penalty of Death if They Win the GA Senate Seats."

Fucking rookie.

Oh they’re just really, really pissed off. And they blame Mitch McConnell. Most of them are convinced this is gonna cost republicans the senate. The surprising thing to me that they’re pretty much unanimous in their anger. I’ve seen no arguments about fiscal responsibility or the welfare state. They just want some fucking money to pay the rent. I guess government handouts aren’t such an evil thing when you’re staring down the barrel of eviction.

You jest, but I spent an hour yesterday reading all about the lib agenda being pushed by the Impossible Burger.

Luke Letlow, a newly elected Representative from Louisiana, died of Covid-19 today. Things are starting to catch up with politicians since our conversation about the topic a few weeks ago. He was diagnosed on Dec. 18, was resting at home, then went to hospital a few days later in Monroe, then on Dec. 23 was moved to LSU Heath Shreveport Academic Medical Center and was in the ICU being treated with Remdesivir and steroids.

He was 41 years old.

Well, at least his vacancy will help prevent the possibility of the GOP achieving an "effective" majority before the special elections can occur.  ....Too soon?  Seriously, damn, only 41.

Not to be a Hungaraphobe(sp) or anything, but why would Soros roll 32b into the douchebags (Peterffy) control if he's basically another version of the Koch's?

Seems odd, maybe I've misunderstood something here?

Soros created a foundation called the Open Society Institute, which gives grants around the world to further civil initiatives to reduce poverty and increase transparency, with an aim to advance justice, education, public health and independent media. $15 B has already been distributed. Peterffy has nothing to do with it.

Petterffy is a conservative who is very pro capitalism and anti socialism. He calls himself an independent but he donated to Trump and, as I said, he made those 2012 campaign commercials that basically labeled Democrats as socialists.

It shouldn't be a laughing matter, but it feels like these folks treat irony like they're in an Alanis Morissette video...

Ah I see Bird, it's just in the way I read this.

eta: I see the reason why he’s the richest Hungarian in the world is because Soros rolled $32 B into his foundation in support of open societies and left himself with a measly $8 B to live on.

I thought you implied Soros gave Peterffy money by the way it's written, which of course, seemed pretty confusing.

I'm gathering only now they are both Hungarian, thanks for clarifying my confusion.

Eta: knew Soros was a European but had forgotten his country.

Ah...did I use grammar rules correctly or incorrectly? The his after Soros refers back to Soros, otherwise I would need to say Peterffy if I meant Peterffy, I think.

Safe R seat though.  Is there a real risk of an effective GOP majority in the House before the next mid-terms? I thought all the Dems picked were from safe seats (although of course you can never really predict SE outcomes).

I couldn't tell you what the grammar rules say for sure but I'd defo have read that the way DWS did.
