Boise man who stormed U.S. Capitol building: 'I got caught up in the moment'

“I love America, I love the people, I didn’t hurt anyone and I didn’t cause any damage in the Chamber..."

That "moment" when you plan a trip and dress in full tactical gear...

Has this been mentioned? Lauren Boebert, the crazy rep from Georgia who says she’s going to carry her gun in the house, was live tweeting Nancy Pelosi’s location after the word came out the Capitol was under attack.

Oh yeah that happened. https://www.rawstory.com/lauren-boebert-twitter/
She’s publicly rebuked the insurrectionists as not real conservatives.

Fucking grifter,

I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week. I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain.

This is why I've never gotten the "trapped" narrative with her, or at least once she developed any type of discernible public profile.  This level of self-involvement, obsession, and victimization is at depths only really her husband reaches (and surpasses).  She barely got the names out of all the dead before she made it about herself.  And, I mean seriously, at least with her husband the outrage is directed at him.  Who the fuck has been talking about Melania the past six days to any detailed extent?!?  (I know her focusing on porcelain..something or other was mentioned the other day, but still.)  The statement suggests she's literally been searching herself looking to feed this imagined insult.  The two of them entirely deserve each other.  Or, from the Schrute way of putting it:

It's as strange as it is infuriating to see the headline that Trump was whipping senators while they were under attack and at the same time he never called Pence to see if he was okay. Makes sense that the latter hasn't spoken to him since.

Who among us can say they haven’t occasionally had a few drinks and accidentally tried to violently overthrow the lawful government? Let he who is without sin, etc.

I keep seeing right wingers invoking George Orwell and 1984 in their weeping about how oppressed they are and once again one must be in awe of the fact that people who so claim to love western culture know so little about it. The claims that Orwell would somehow on the side of these right wing fascists is hilarious, and if you want some proof to slap around your right wing friends with, look no further.

I doubt they've read 1984, and I certainly doubt they've read Homage to Catalonia which would make their heads explode. Their Orwell stuff is truly hilarious. It's like if Lenin wrote a book about rigged elections and that's all they knew about him so they loved him.

Trump supporters have been groomed for racism, misogyny and violence. The cons technique has been to undermine any credible sources of information, while they have overwhelmed media with repetitive lies and emotional reasoning. The results are almost inevitable. All that walking away from questions on television is part of the modeling bad behavior for their followers. Don’t think about questions at all!

I am waiting for additional encrypted instructions from Sue the T. Rex, our collaborator in Chicago. The last communique regarding the Sauro- Avian Welsh initiative was as follows: The Canary is in coal mine 51.

Independence is something many Democrats and liberals, and leftists seem to not realize is theoretically an option for PR.

I think most people realize it. They just discredit it because of how unpopular it is within Puerto Rico. Polling for independence is regularly below 20%; coming in third place behind 'statehood' and 'status quo'.

The Nov. 2020 non-binding referendum (which was not boycotted, unliked in 2017) gave statehood absolute majority support from the voters.

Regarding the stimulus debates-

American personal disposable income is at pathetic and alarming lows according to this article stating that fewer than 4 of 10 Americans can even scrape together the funds to cover an $1000 emergency/unexpected expense.

https://finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/despite-stimulus-help-fewer-4-050105458.html

Scary times we're in.

This is why the debate on stimulus is ridiculous. We've been fucked over for a long time and even now, when shit is worse, our government is like, "we're not sure if you need help." At best, it's an argument of ignorance fueled by privilege, but more often, it's just cruel greed.

Q heads babbling about Trump enacting the Insurrection Act, pope being arrested on pedo charges, and Flynn being named as vice President. The loonies will be fully out of the bin this week....

Yep heard that one through the deranged family grapevine last night. That Trump has signed ‘insurrection papers’ and was being escorted out of DC by the military (who is helping him by the way, not kicking him out).

One of the things that blows my mind about all this is that it won’t stop even after this is all shown to be totally wrong. Q is wrong constantly. It will be so easy to prove that Trump isn’t working with the military to reinstate his power and save democracy. All we have to do is wait a week or so when Joe is sworn in. And the thing about the Pope - how will they explain his next public appearance when he’s supposed to be in the cooler for abuse charges?

I can kind of understand going online and getting kind of sucked into a rabbit hole in a weird corner of the internet. I can even understand buying in for a moment. What I don’t get is that when all of these things continue to not come to pass, why people just double down. The very first time these proclamations were completely wrong I would be extremely skeptical, and to have that pattern play out continuously - I’d be out completely in short order.

the only thing that makes sense to me is that these people are intellectually and emotionally weak. Cant discern fact from fiction and instead of just allowing themselves to have been wrong are engaging in increasing elaborate fantasies that are now spilling into everyone’s reality. It’s fucked up man

Mayor Bowser is requesting from DHS a lot of help/change for inauguration which I am certain will be partially if not totally ignored.

https://www.popville.com/2021/01/mayor-bowsers-letter-department-of-homeland-security-inauguration-preparations/

Among the the requests, extension of the security period to include today through the 24th, pre-disaster declaration, FBI daily threat briefings and

Quote

Further, I am requesting that the Secretary of the Department of Interior cancel any and all Public Gathering Permits in the District of Columbia and deny any applications for Public Gathering Permits during the period of January 11 – 24, 2021. We have made this request repeatedly since June 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this week demonstrated the National Park Service’s willingness to approve last minute permits and major adjustments.

Expel her from the HoR.  Investigate and if appropriate prosecute her for aiding the insurrection.

She has a nice bed in a cell waiting as soon as she tries to bring her side shooter in the congress like she's advertising she will.

Given her Tweets, her bringing a gun to work with her seems like a direct threat and danger to democrats (as opposed to merely an idiotic symbol of her "rights").

She's from one of those rural pockets of Colorado and a complete psycho. She had a history of arrests. Her husband is top.notch too, getting arrested for exposing himself to underage girls. https://annelandmanblog.com/2020/10/republican-cd-3-candidate-lauren-boeberts-husband-arrested-in-04-for-indecent-exposure/

Something I've seen suggested on Twitter, and I think is sadly correct, is that there will be a spike in suicides and murder-suicides in the coming weeks after January 20.

While there are plenty of happy little Q families that can reinforce each other forever; there's also an awful lot of people who have destroyed every important social bond in their lives. And once the delusion is shattered, I expect bad things to happen.

The majority of people in the U.S. now feel the only purpose of a college education is to get you ready for the job market. And another large fraction of people believe all people need nowadays is some vocational training and that college is worthless because they can step right into a well paying trade without going to college.

What's being left out here is any exposure to critical thinking. We have a generation of worker drones that seem to be content with consuming whatever news and information matches their preconceived truth about the issues of the day, about history, about the world.

Then you have right wing media to reinforce all their prejudices and ill informed, anti science ideas.

A perfect recipe for the kind of shitshow idiocy we had on display last wknd.

I read Homage to Catalonia last year.
