For a marquee series like England v India I'd usually expect having to book the previous winter to get tickets, although in these times people may have been reluctant to plan so far in advance. I haven't even tried to look because I don't know if I'll be vaccinated by then although I guess the typical Test cricket demographic might have a big overlap with the priority groups so that might not be a big concern for most of them.

I'm fully vaccinated now so I'm curious. You would think I would be able to get a ticket to either the England or the NZ test, but probably not. I've left it too late!

MI lost! That's all I need.

RCB and Kohli wasted Washi. Just given an over even though he scalped a stunning c&b off Lynn. This being a powerplay specialist. Look at Chahal. 40 odd runs in just 3 overs! So generous.

And Washi opened the match (he opens for native domestic team of Tamilnadu) instead of his usual middle order tail ender position in a pressure match. So kohli can say he gave the chance after all. Persistent with Chahal like Dhoni with Kedhar Jadhav last year. Smh

Sigh

If not CSK, RCB

MI and Delhi are the favourites for mine.

You might want to add PBKS & RR. Yesterday night was fantastic. KL misses out his century by 9, Deepak Hooda smashed a 220+ strike rate 68, sublime Gayle 40, PBKS sets 222 target, Samson nearly gets his team there. 119. Needed 5 of the last ball, got caught just before the ropes. Chetan had a great debut tho. Fielding was fantastic by him and Tewatia

The music can be better. IPL standards.

Any non T20, non IPL worth paying attention going on, old timers?

The Sheffield Shield final of course! You’d think the Bulls will win after Neser’s performance yesterday and a top class QLD batting line up featuring Marnus and Usman.

Plus the County season has started and I am a bit more enthused than normal. I was never a big fan of the Division format; I think the US-style conference structure will produce better talent.

And I’m still watching a bit of IPL here and there. Looks to be a very even competition with not many lopsided contests. RCB actually look decent so far thanks largely to The Big Show.

CSK back on track. Unbelievable fielding from Jadeja. Pulled of a stunner catch off Chahar to dismiss Gayle. Captain KL run out by a beaut. Same sir jaddu

Oh...and Deepak Chahar aka Oscar Isaac Poe Dameron got 4/13, wicket maiden, 3 overs in powerplay,4 total, one scalp each plus one persistent 7th (wk mdn) over. Great swing castled Mayank. PBKS limped to 106/8 (20). Mainly thanks to Shah Rukh Khan's defiant ,tho beaten 47. From 19/4, to this after 20 something for 5/6.

Needless to say, CSK chased it without much hassle. 6 wickets & 5 overs in hand. Mooen (44) missed out on a well deserving fifty, much liked SRK. Not the Bollywood film star. That's kkr ownership. Another yesteryear bollywood actress owns PBKS coincidentally. Preity Zinta has acted with SRK incidentally. Reunion of namesake of sorts.

Speaking of County Cricket maybe England should have given Matt Parkinson a chance in India looking at this.

A dominant performance from Marnus in the final sees QLD win yet another Shield. Glamorgan will be keen to have him over in the UK shortly for a county stint.

Nice to see Pope back in form for Surrey. England will need him to have a big summer to hopefully pave the way for a decent Ashes performance.

Maxwell does it again for Bangalore. And Delhi were too good for the Kings, who look to be the IPL laggards along with Warner’s hapless Sunrisers.

I think it’s pretty hard to call these games. It’s a pretty even comp. Going to say Dad’s (MS’) Army will win this one.

In other news, I noticed that Cricinfo has officially dropped the word batsman in all its coverage. FWIW, I’ll follow suit on that one and use batter going forward.

Why does ICC require no govt interference in national cricket boards? To mint more money ig

I didn't see any coverage of it but looking at the scorecard I feel sorry for the bowlers in the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Test. First innings of 541/7 and 648/8 suggest it might have been quite an easy pitch to bat on.

LOL Pakistan failed to chase Zimbabwe, 118 target, 99 all out IIRC

Did you just see the latest IPL match??

!?

It wasn't CSK vs RCB, SIR JADEJA vs #eesalacupnamde

LOL. 37 RUNS OFF THE LAST OVER. VICTIM IS PURPLE CAP HOLDER CURRENTLY (most wicket so far, 2 4 wicket hauls, 2 three wicket ones) Jadeja was the perpetrator. 62 off 28. 192 target. Rcb survive 122/9 in twenty overs. Again Ravindra Jadeja with the ball. Sanjay Manjrekar be like...

3/14 or something. ABD MAXWELL BOWLED. Plus fantastic run out. Imran Tahir, ex purple cap, 2/12 or something, fantastic run out belying his age. Overall great captaincy MSD, CSK ROARS BACK TO FORM

This comment didn't age well.

A lot of the matches are snooze-fests now, as the bottom four teams (KKR, RR, PK and SRH) are clearly inferior to the top four. I wouldn't rule out a resurgence for perhaps one of them, but I I don't see it as likely. I am, of course, enjoying seeing Warner's team struggle.

Overall though...is this IPL going to make it all the way? If more of the domestic and/or overseas players drop, then it might not be tenable. I see the argument for forging ahead, but I'm still not sure it will last.
