Angel Eyes
Since it took Tyrion less than a couple hours to kill Tywin once he learned of the truth about Tysha not being a whore, why didn’t he take revenge on Tywin sooner? Lack of opportunity? Cowardice? The lie that Tysha was a whore? On the latter, no man, not even a half-man, should let that stand as an affront to his wife, for however brief a time. Curled Finger
I don't think cowardice figures into this inaction of Tyrion's. He's what? 13? 16? Having the first love of his life. He knows he's done a bad job here. Compound that with all the confusion he has in Tywin's presence on a good day--all this that was done to Tysha is a lesson to Tywin's son. He's got his father's attention. Jamie went to all this trouble for him. Tyrion would likely think the rape was a fitting punishment for a woman who duped him so cruelly. His participation in the rape reads like the coming of Tyrion's Lannister age. He's allowed himself to be fooled horribly, incurred his father's wrath and paid the price. I don't say these things lightly or take rape lightly. Very little of the medieval world valued crofter's daughters for anything more than inconvenient chattel or dogs to be kicked. It's obvious Tyrion wants love. It's also obvious he has no idea what love actually is. It's very sad. I think if Tyrion had believed Tysha at the time he would have killed Tywin. Lion of the West
You do realize that Tywin in the books was given a rather unique oppertunity and being in a pretty unique mindset with his father having turned fully on him? Earlier Tyrion would not have the same chance or felt so abandoned by his father.

He was told she was a whore. He did not know he was lied to.
Eltharion21
I doubt that Tyrion would even kill Tywin when he did, if not for Varys playing him like the fiddle.

The person he trusted, Jaime, was part of the trickery. He was too young, too naive, to fully understand what was going on.

Tyrion did not know that he was lied so he had no reason to go apeshit. Had Tyrion known the truth sooner, Tywin would have died sooner. There is no hidden plot. Rose of Red Lake
What I can't understand is, why all of these characters have such similar names. You can't talk about it without getting into a tongue twister.
KingintheNorth4
He was only a kid then, and didn't know about the lie until years later.
dbergkvist
Apparently, all Tyrion cares about is having a wife who loves him. So the fact that his father had had the girl he loved raped by 50 guards, didn't matter to Tyrion, because he didn't think she loved him back. It was only the realization that Tywin had messed up his marriage that caused him to decide to murder Tywin. That's how psycopathically unsympathetic Tyrion is.
