What if we read the book that inspired Damon to make potatoes in his own shit?

Advanced botany??

Read some real shit before you get all set on leaving that lame earf behind forever. Start with Kim Stanley Robinson and work your way forward to Neal Stephenson.

I love The Expanse too, but anyone who calls it hard or realistic science fiction doesn't read enough science fiction.

It wasn't suppose to light at all, SpaceX was just doing a test spinning up the turbines of all 33 engines.  But do to so they need to be fuelled, and pressurized.  And somewhere along the lines in the fueling process some methane must have leaked, and mixed with ambient air, and something sparked enough to make it go boom...

The result doesn't look bad actually, which makes sense since everything there is designed to take a controlled explosion.  Hopefully it won't be too long to assess the damage and get moving towards a launch attempt.

Next time they do the spin test, they'll just do it one engine at a time instead of all 33.

I'm not typically posting every launch any more, unless there is a milestone passed or the flight has some significance beyond a generic commercial satellite launch.  Today's launch of another batch of Starlink represents the 31st launch of the year, matching the number of SpaceX launches in all of 2021, and it's only July!  It is possible SpaceX could achieve it's ambitious goals of 60 launches in 2022, averaging about one launch every 6 days.
