So apparently Deshaun Watson is being accused of sexual assault...

Perhaps better yet, the actual allegation doesn't even accuse him of any wrongdoing.  He's essentially being accused of asking a masseuse for a handy.  She turned him down and asked him to leave, so he left.  Isn't that exactly how one should act when a sexual advance is refused?

The Texans have to be involved in this, right?

Trent Williams takes a year off to get out of Washington and immediately rates out as the #1 OT in football, and becomes the highest paid tackle in the league, in spite of being 33 years old.  Good for him.

In many respects the difference between the best OT and a mediocre OT might be just as big as the gap for quarterbacks.  There are just SO many more OT spots (with injuries every team needs at least 3) than there are guys who can be even serviceable at the position.

Yeah I was very happy to wake up this morning and see the Niners not only resigned Williams but also signed Alex Mack (albeit sounds like that's not finalized yet).  Very happily surprised they've filled most of their holes and still should have a bit of money to spare.  They still need to address the slot - on both sides of the ball.  But other than that and the conundrum at QB, all that's left is depth - and they have 10 draft picks.  Definitely did not expect them to be able to retain so much (and sign an edge rusher) while still having Garoppolo on the books with a room to spare.

I was really hoping the Colts would replace their retired LT with a LT. But ol' Chris Ballard likes being the guy at the Superbowl Party with the most cap space saved up. Nobody ever won a superbowl by paying free agents.

Apropos of nothing.

Cardinals sign AJ Green to a 1 year deal.

I think that with all the big moves they've made, the Cards have that Hard Knocks appearance locked up.

So what the Cardinals have done this year? That's how you not play Free Agency. They're so lucky Bill O-Brian drunk dialed them first.

It sure seems like it is right out of the Owners/Executives playbook as described in Draymond Green's "Bad Behavior" conversation.  The team wants to make the player look bad, so they plant stories about the player they want to trade.

And Draymond's point is a good one, in that you can think of player after player to whom this has happened, and this story is right down the middle of that same scenario.

To me it just seems to show that the teams that do this sort of thing are run by idiots, as a rational economic consumer would want to increase, not decrease the value of a trade asset, and by using stalking horses to run down their players, the teams are reducing their value in any future trade.

Not to mention that players aren't just blinking sheep in all this. They talk to each other, and certain organizations develop a reputation for screwing players over.  Which isn't great for signing or resigning free agents.

Browns bring back Rashard Higgins for 2.4 million.  Not a huge move, but that's a bargain for a guy who has played really well for them whenever he's been called upon the past five years.  His counting stats are nothing special, but his efficiency stats are elite.  Twelfth in yards per reception, second in yards per target, 23rd in yards per route run, and 38th in air yards despite being 84th in targets.  He's a solid receiver and he's basically making nothing.

Mike Hilton going to the Bengals isn't quite Harrison levels of treachery, but hurts nonetheless. They gained a nice player.

Is Golloday likely at all to sign as well? I read they offered him a deal but he's going to see the Giants next.

I love that these WR's are getting squeezed. No position group other than QB deserves it more.

Actually his agent reached out to the Bengals stating he’s interested in playing with Burrow, but NY is offering more years so I’m sure he’ll end up there.
