briantw
I love what the Browns have done this offseason. They poached John Johnson and Troy Hill from the league's best defense on great contracts, added Malik Jackson and Takk McKinley to replace the departing Larry Ogunjobi and the injured Olivier Vernon (who was great last year...hate that he ruptured his Achilles so late in the season), brought back Rashard Higgins, and brought in Anthony Walker from the Colts to shore up their weakness at LB. They also effectively signed Andrew Billings, who they inked last offseason but who opted out of the 2020 season. This all while not really losing anyone of note other than Vernon. They literally bring back all eleven of their offensive starters and basically all the depth guys that actually played. Defensively, they get back 2nd round pick Grant Delpit, who missed the whole season after rupturing his Achilles in camp. They also get back Greedy Williams, who took a bad hit in practice and spent the bulk of the season unable to feel one of his shoulders after suffering nerve damage. It came back to life a month or two ago and he's ecstatic to make his return. Looking forward to actually going into a draft without any glaring needs. They can use their first on literally any position. I'm hoping for WR in the form of either Terrace Marshall or Rashod Bateman. Receiver isn't currently a glaring need for the Browns with Landry, Beckham, and Higgins in the fold, but I think the team will move on from one or both of Beckham and Landry in 2022 and it would be nice to bring in a great receiver on a rookie deal with all their extensions soon to come due. Jace, Extat
Walker struggles in coverage, but he's not a bad player and should help that soft ass run defense. That's his strength. Don't watch the 'ZACK SNYDER'S Colts v Baltimore' tape though.

I view Walker as a decent stop gap for them. Still think they need to add another outside corner, because I don't think you can count on Greedy after he just missed an entire year with nerve damage and reports are he may only ever get back 80% of the mobility in his shoulder. But the defense should be much improved from last year and the offense will be the same.

Yeah you guys should be good. Depending when Burrow comes back, I think it's possible we're the fourth best team in the division. Not looking forward to it. I was wondering about Beckham. Any chance you trade him pre-draft to get more draft capital? Pricey receiver to go 4 for 40 every game and then have to answer the media every week why he isn't getting the ball. Seems clear to me that the Browns are at their best when they run the ball, which they're well equipped to do.

I'm inclined to think they'll run it back one more year with Beckham and see if he and Baker can develop some chemistry with a full offseason and with Baker knowing the offense right from the get go. He got a lot better as the year went on, and was playing like a top ten quarterback in the back half of the season. I'm definitely expecting the Browns to take a receiver on day one or two, though. As mentioned, I really like Marshall and Bateman if it's at the end of the first. It would be wise for them to start preparing for life without either Beckham or Landry, because at least one of them will probably be a cap casualty a year from now. OBJ's trade value is probably a second at this point. I'd keep him if the cap isn't an issue.

briantw
So with Watson up to Trumpian numbers of sexual assault allegations, I think maybe it's time to... STOP THE COUNT!
Tywin et al.
Just saw it jumped from 13 to 16 suits. Trade or no trade, I don't think Watson is playing in 2021, if he ever plays again. This is going to serve as a real interesting test case going forward, especially when you consider all the past behavior of players that's mostly just been whispered about. Jace, Extat
Was I not clear about that? Sorry. I've been trying to be more direct. Yeah. Maybe he gets a few games. The Texans find a way to stash him on the Commisioner's Exempt list and squat on his rights. But he ain't going to jail or nothing.

First off, 'if true' - what, you think they're gonna have a video of him pulling out his dick at a massage parlor? How do you actually think you're gonna prove 'truth' here? Second - what has happened in the last EVER that makes you think that anything will happen? The worst that'll happen is that he'll get the Big Ben treatment - he'll be forced to marry someone and show that he loves Jesus.

This many women coming forward leads any reasonable person to assume that he's likely guilty in some way. But everyone gets their day in court. Second, Big Ben would not be treated the same way today that he was back then, and frankly, the number of accusers makes it harder to recover from for Watson. Plus you know, he's black, and he had a previously squeaky clean image. Many media types will have fun with that narrative.

The NFL and people haven't changed much at all in the last 10 years, MeToo and all. Talent still trumps moral failures, and winning beats everything. Pretty sure Antonio Brown just got a ring, right? Pretty sure Zeke stayed employed.

Tampa keeping him seems strange unless they had an anything justifies winning mindset. I did also say I'd cut Zeke and wouldn't have signed that deal. This is also a no on Karnybear, then, I take it? Rhom
My Apple watch popped up a Twitter alert yesterday that Watson had been released by the Texans... I immediately pulled it up on my phone only to discover it was breaking from Barry McCockiner. I've been fooled by that before... but at least I'm not alone in that based on the number of retweets that account gets.
