Yeah but a 2 tonne bench press?

I'll raise you; four days of cardio, and some acrobatic jumps. Plus throwing the big frisbee around, but anyone can do that!

I think they forgot that Sam's not had any serum

Maybe the Wakandans included some magic herb in that case. Or he drank some of Walkers blood like a vampire in a deleted scene.

It occurred to me trying to sleep last night that various MCU scientists spent all that time and effort trying to recreate that serum when all they had to do was irradiate some spiders.

If we had ever gotten a full explanation of how SpiderHolland got his powers, I'm sure that Oscorp was experimenting with recreating the super soldier syrum using spiders as a medium.

Enjoyed the ending.  Kinda hated how they had to spoon feed us that Sharon was the Power Broker.  Karli talking to her in a familiar way wasn't enough... we needed Bastroc to actually say "You're the Power Broker."

Overall, I really did like it.  Thought Sam's outfit looked good.  Not sure how I feel about taking Walker on a heel turn and immediately making him likeable again, but I get it.

I do wonder how much of a show like this will be carried over into MCU films and how much we should expect to stay on D+?  Will we really see US Agent doing anything significant?  Or will he just pop up in smaller scale projects?

That could be the case, but I thought that the main thing about the spiders has always been the development of extremely tough webbing.

I think they did a reasonable amount of that showing him fighting the supersoldiers with the shield and his thrusters and wings as a counterbalance to their strength. Also remember his signature fight in the episode was with Batroc, who's just a guy, y'know?

They also indicated the serum has different effects and doesn't boost everyone up to Captain America's strength. Without the big machine helping out, I can buy that the serum has a reduced efficiency: it makes people maybe 30-50% stronger than normal, whilst Cap was like 150-200%. Non-supes can still beat them with strategy and guile and better training.

Not sure if he'll pop up in a mainline film, but he could easily show up in one of the other shows coming up.

Interesting that JLD said that "Things are about to get weird," which is what we've seen people hinting at with the upcoming projects. Interesting that she seems to know that as well.

How does that help him bench press an armoured car?
He's using his jet pack and wings to give himself a stable base; but then he's pushing it up from there with his pecs and triceps.

He did an Ironman, with the additional boosters pushing the vehicle up. But the problem is that his suit doesn't seem to have an exoskeleton frame, like Ironman, so his body should have been crushed between the jets and the vehicle.

Exactly; and showing him flexing as he held it away from his body

I thought about the crush between boosters and armored car.  I'm just going to Head Canon it into believing that the Wakandans have some sort of vibranium mesh built into the fibers of the suit.

I was afraid Sam was going to introduce Isaiah to old man Steve.  I loved that he is being honored in the Smithsonian as well... however... isn’t it odd that they didn’t contact Isaiah about the new exhibit?

I had thought the same.  But really, where would the connection be between Isaiah and Steve?

And I know a guy here in town who made life sized bronze statues for the local veteran's tribute... that took months to get done!

A very pretty ending that probably shouldn't have had Isaiah in it at all and ended up with a bunch of victimization porn.  Sorry about taking away 30 years of your life and what we did with you and your wife and the massive medical experimentation we did - but here's a statue and apparently a news blackout so no one else hears about it!

Because ya know, acknowledging what we did to the Tuskegee troops just made them feel totes fine and all water under the bridge

Beyond montetary compensation for the evils done to him, would else could they have done?

The country talking about it, potus addressing it, having it in its own museum, talking about ensuring it or something like it doesn't happen again, criminal charges for those who did it, full restoration of his rank and pension, naming things after him, having a special holiday or day of remembrance for him and the other soldiers....

Do you need more?
