That wasn't a corner, but I don't think VAR will bring it back.

It was totally bogus, but hey, the result is what matters.

Well worked goal. Great cross from Maehle.

Yeah, absolutely great cross with the outside of his right foot. Looks like he might have picked up an injury here though.

What are the odds ofs someone paying a lot for Schick after the Euros?

Small unless it's an English club.

It would be a stupid move to pay a big sum for him anyway imo just because of a handful of games. International football is also of a lower standard than top level club football. Schick is not a good goal scorer either - he's only managed something like 22 or 23 goals in all competitions in the past two seasons combined and was a flop at Roma before that.

Well, Schick isn't a bad player, and he is not starting every game at Leverkusen (he is competing with Alario over game time there).

Technically speaking he played 29 games. In 8 of those he started on the bench and in 9 games he was subbed. Kicker usually only give ratings to a player if they spent at least 30 mins on the pitch. By that metric he had played 21 rated games, and scored 9 goals and contributed 2 assists. Which are not horrible stats by any stretch. We are obviously not talking about Ballon d'Or numbers by any stretch, but those are still decent numbers.

I didn't say he was a bad player. I said it's not worth paying a big sum for him. He's not a good enough goal scorer to drop a fat transfer fee on.

Well, maybe some club like PSG who are in need of a good back up striker will throw some cash at Leverkusen. Otehrwise, if there's a club out there, who think Schick's way of playing is a good fit for them, and felt like his showing at the Euros was just adding to that believe, who knows. But yeah, it'd have to be an English club, as there's the biggest chance of finding some cash now.
