James Fenimore Cooper XXII
@Falcon2909 Daenerys Targaryen just brought three dragons back from extinction. She walked out of her husband's funeral fire. She has her own khalasar. Marwyn recognized her as the person spoken of in prophecies. The one called Azor Ahai and the three dragons are lightbringer. He wants to meet her and offer his knowledge at her disposal.

He's Martin and Merlin combined to serve and advise the heroine who resurrected dragons from stone eggs. He has to be there in person. He also wants to protect her from assassins that the citadel may send. He wants to protect Dany and the dragons.

That way lies madness and despair. She is destined, I hope, to change course. She is destined to be a girl in grey, fleeing from the marriage they have made for her, along the banks of the Gods Eye, on a dying horse. There she will meet Nymeria ("three mounts shall you ride"). Perhaps Daario (and/or Euron as they seem to be the same person) will be one of those she is fleeing from.
Shi Qiang
The girl in grey is Karstark. The one who made a fool out of Jon Snow. He though the girl was his sister and betrayed the night's watch for her benefit. Why is Marwyn making the long journey to meet Dany? He was and still is loyal to the Targaryens. Daenerys is the person who should rule Westeros. He wants to convince her to take back her father's throne and make it hers.

Marwyn rather seems convinced Daenerys comes anyway, but wants to be beside her for various reasons, I think.

It has never been said that Quaithe uses a glass candle. There are likely other ways to communicate over distances which are known to her. 3) Why does Marwyn want to serve Dany? Because she is the real heir to Westeros. That's for starters. She is Azor Ahai and has dragons. She is deserving of his loyal service.
