RIP Rem Dog.  May or not be true but I feel like he Jim Rice, and Dwight Evans were the constant guys on the Sox when I was kid.  (Yaz retired and fred Lynn went to the Angels.)

Even if you re not a red sox fan there was an absolutely great NESN special with Don (Orsillo) and Jerry's greatest broadcast moments.  Phenomenal entertainment value.

The pizza toss commemtary was A+

That was broadcasted before the following and personally I think this was the funniest moment of all in Jerry's broadcast career.  Negative space.

Max Fried cruising but pulled after only 6 innings with a "safe" huge lead?  In a potentially clinching Game 6?

Dusty Baker has seen this dance before.

[Of course it was his fault that last time...]

Be kinda funny if he got to experience the comeback from the other side all these years later...

I explained to my son that pretty much everyone around here my age was either a Braves fan or a White Sox fan growing up because the only channels with baseball on the cable system were TBS and WGN.

So my long dormant Atlanta fandom surfaced briefly for the past few days and now can go back into hibernation.

I watched a lot of Cubs games on WGN growing up - enjoyed Harry Caray's late career.  Don't remember watching any White Sox games though.

Oh you know how it is for middle schoolers... you couldn't black out a few stitches on a Cubs hat and make it say "SeX."

Did you also type “80085” on your ancient calculator and show it to the kid next to you?

They'd always respond with 80087322 (upside down so it can be read).

And just so you know... every week when adding up my deposit or calculating hours for my staff, I happily use my TI-85 that I bought in 1993.  It still has Brick Breaker and Solitaire on it.

Fair enough.  You mentioning WGN and TBS really does take me back.  I even remember what channels they were - WGN was 4, TBS 6.

Nice to see the Braves take the World Series.

What's this I hear about the Athletics talking about moving to Las Vegas? It sounds insane, but then I read that there's a triple-A team that plays there. I can't imagine attending a game at any hour in July or August...

The A's have been in dispute with the city of Oakland over the funding of a new waterfront ballpark. The league has given permission to the A's organization to explore leaving the city with Vegas being their primary target. They are now putting together a list of potential ballpark options in Vegas if they don't come to an agreement with the city of Oakland. The triple A team that plays in Vegas is the Oakland A's affiliate. Their stadium isn't actually domed which caught me by surprise. The Diamondbacks at least have a retractable roof stadium.
