Who rules Westerlands in Stannis or Aegon wins?

Both have obvious grudges and rivalries to settle with Lannisters. Who in your mind would they set to rule as Lords Paramount there? Do they keep the Lannisters? Do they choose among their vassals? Who could they even choose, they all seem loyal to the Lannister household. Do they place completely new house to rule from among the other great houses? Do they give it to a loyal knight that proved his worth such as Grandison, Horpe, Massey etc? Do they annex it to royal demesne?

Stannis would probably want to give it to a Lannister branch despite all. Plenty of Lannisters at Lannisport. Aegon might give it to a golden company man, but more like it will be similar to what happened when aegon the conqueror took high garden and gave it to a high ranking Stewart house with at least a claim to the blood. so again probably just different Lannisters.

It doesn’t really matter what Stannis, Aegon, or anyone would want to do. The Lannisters are safe and sound inside a literal mountain that dragons couldn’t bring down. If the Starks needed two whole years to bring down the Dreadfort, I don’t even want to know how long a siege of Casterly Rock would last. And besides, it’s considered a very bad idea to replace a lord paramount. Rhaenyra practically lost her war once she started talking about replacing House Baratheon and House Lannister. And does anyone really think House Bolton or House Baelish will actually keep their newly won statuses by the end of the series?

House Lannister won’t fall. They’ve been in charge way too long for that.

They're only safe if they have enough allies to break the siege

Yeah, but don't they still have literal lions and other creatures living in the Rock all these years later? Plus there's a protected harbour inside the Rock. They'd take decades to starve.

Frankly, it's ridiculous how OP the Lannisters' home base is. Three times as big as the Wall, so full of gold that people are still mining it to this day, backs onto the sea... It's basically an even more impregnable version of Erebor.

It´s pretty easy to cut off supply lines land and sea when you have enough men. And any food they have stored will go bad over time. They wouldn´t last more than 1-2 years of siege like any other castle.

It really does.

They did not try to.

As long as their supplies allows them to. Which is completely unknown. But they def can be starved to death by someone determined to see that happen. Aegon and Stannis both nicely fit the bill.

It has never been tried before.

On the contrary, she lost her war when she refused to give Storm's End and Casterly Rock to the two betrayers. Had she done that, she would have counted with five grown dragoms, More than enough to destroy  any contrarians to her policies.

No, but we already knew that.

The show has made it clear that Petyr's days are numbered and half of Westeros is looking for Sansa because she's Robb's heir, The same reason why the Boltons married with "Arya"  Stark.

A bet?^_^

If they don't fall. likely won't be because any of this, it's likelier that it's because there is so many that you can always find someone with a cleann slate to continue the line.

If the Lannisters were only reduced to a single line like the Tullys, the Baratheons or the Starks... They would fall for sure.

Which can be blocked quite nicely. Unless the Lannisters have food and water for decades, once they are trapped,  it's over.

The thing is, are Stannis or Aegon (Dany for sure) willing to do that?? If the answer is yes, gg for House Lannister.

That's supposing that the soldiers holding the castle are willing to starve to death.

If Casterly Rock even comes under siege I suppose that the rest of the Westerlands would've fallen by then too, which would make it madness to hold the castle at all.

Depends on if Jon Connington is willing to wait. He only has a matter of time before the Greyscale takes over his body, he might try to be as aggressive as possible and do as much as he can beforehand… unless he can find somebody to flay off his greyscale.

If George forgets about Westerling like DND that would be a big loss.

I mean if any kids of Robb and Jeyne show up. Given that she was being slipped substances so she wouldn't conceive and that the differences between her physical appearances are being edited out...
