Looks horrible. May end up being biggest disappointment in a while.

Funny, I think it looks incredible. At minimum it looks like it'll have a lot of cool set pieces and visuals. But it seems like it may also have something pretty interesting to say about our current media culture obsessed with remakes, reboots, and general nostalgia for the past.

Yeah I'm genuinely pumped for it and this trailer made that no different. I don't expect it to be as mindblowing and near-flawless an experience as the first one, but I'm very down to see where it's going. Seems like the least we can possibly get is an interesting failure.

That said, hoo boy there's a lot going on in there.

Its co-written by David Mitchell, who wrote the book Cloud Atlas and helped with the screenplay of the Cloud Atlas movie. I feel pretty confident that "interesting failure" is in fact the worst it could get. Pretty much every Wachowski movie, even stuff like Jupiter Ascending, at least hits that level.

So Mads plays Grindelwald now? Good choice.

Kind of makes you wonder why they didn't cast him in the first place. Such a great actor. I might actually see this now.

Everything Everywhere All the Time looks incredible. Also, I cannot believe that Ke Huy Quan is still so very recognizable from his Data and Short Round days.

Hadn't realized that was him.  Aside from one thing that came out this year (Finding 'Ohana, which sounds like Goonies set in Hawaii) he hasn't been credited for acting in a single thing since 2002.

I see he worked as a fight choreographer and stunt man on X-Men too.  Nice he found his way back to acting.

I suspect it was the Goonies reunion episode of Reunited Apart on youtube last year that got things moving for him.
