Argh, I got up just too late to catch the end.

ETA: A bit of a side note but BT Sport half arsedly deciding they’ll have their own commentary lineup halfway through the series has brought us Dan Norcross and Mark Butcher on tv for the Ashes which I’m a fan of.

And England hold on for the draw by a single wicket! When the margin is so razor thin there will be criticism for Cummins' conservative declaration given there was rain around and England's batsmen in the first innings were showing signs of a fight.

However, I don't think it's really that big a deal. Australia had 102 overs to bowl them out in the fourth innings, which is three and a half sessions, and plenty of time to get a result. Ordinarily in any match you would declare after tea on the fourth day so it's not that unusual.

It's really more down to an excellent performance by the English batting lineup. Bairstow and Stokes can take a lot of credit, Crawley in the second innings too.
