Small, Worthy, Unworthy, Undervalued -- You Roll With It!

It’s snowing again, articles fear it will decrease willingness to go out in the freezing weather to vote. Crazy world.
ETA: the weather doesn’t seem to hinder anybody, but 90% of elderly folk are standing in 30-45 minute lines to the ballots - without masks. Oh wait! There are actually signs on the doors saying we should be wearing masks and keeping distance. Well, people will be people.

So that time I spent in line to vote… ? I could as well have stayed home…

Not a fan of the results?  The "victory so big that you can see it from the moon"?

It was no surprise. And well, headlines are so big you can see them from the moon too…

I don’t want to make a new post because I post too much in this thread anyway. So here’s how tired I am: my colleague swiped her card at the office entrance and I walked straight through in front of her because my brain saw gates open and heard a deep and signaled go through. Had to hand her back my own card over the gate. Then I waited out a green light when crossing the street because I just didn’t register the red changed. And then I got home and loaded the washing machine with a basket of clean clothes waiting to be ironed. I will go and sleep now :leaving:

Wending home from school, right after our schools pre-school and kindergarten let out: little kids running around madly, masks askew every-which-way: "Tag, you're it."  The tagged slaps the tagger in return, "Now you're it again!"  "Against the wules!  You can't do that!"  "Yes it is. It is the Rule!"  Following me down the sidewalk is "It's against the Wules!"  It's the Rules!'

I catch up to a mom and her very little child, who may be walking but he can't really talk, yet old enough to see Puddles (it's been raining most of the day).  He walks ever more slowly.  His arm extends to the long puddle at the edge of the sidewalk. He gets closer and closer to the edge of the puddle.  His little face is the picture of yearning.  Yet, he does not.  Evidently there is something, young as he is, that he's already learned from Mama about stamping his adorable tiny boy sneakers in puddles.  :D

Continued, appreciating the spring flowers popping in the spring rain, and seeing that some things for our species are eternal, no matter what era in which we live.

Trying to do my shopping on Sainsbo's incredibly shitty website.

Is there anything more annoying than a  webpage that takes an age to load, and then, just as you're about to click, jumps up or down a few hundred pixels, causing you to click on brussels sprouts instead of an ad for fantasy-themed codpieces.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Now, you can’t just drop something like that and not explain what a fantasy themed codpiece looks like  I want to know. I NEED to know. We needs it.

What do we do here exactly?

I'm out of the loop.

This is a thread for sharing topics of interest that do not fall under other subjects like politics, dating, entertainment and so forth.

Kind of a catch all place for narrow interests (or even just a story about your day) not large enough for a whole thread, or on topic to other threads.

Nothing is too trivial.

Thinking about getting myself a new laptop.

Had the same need recently, but went with a mini-pc instead, using my tablet as a screen and my regular wireless mouse and keyboard. I need a numpad for job purposes, and an above-minimum processor, which doubles the price for laptops compared to what I paid.

The downside is that the tablet makes for a very small screen, and there's no battery, but it works. It's not like I ever actually do any work "on the go" anyway, I need peace and quiet. Those places tend to have a power outlet.

Won $500 last night at the casino. Nice right?

Tried to spend one the $100 bills while buying groceries this morning and was told it was a fake. :angry2:

May be worth contacting the casino and then seeing if the casino has video of your receiving the winnings to verify the serial. If they don't want to help or set things straight, maybe file a police report.

Yep. That’s what I was thinking.

I’ve tried calling the casino 3 times this morning. No answer. For whatever reason Walmart let me keep the bill, so I still have it.

It was a “no go” the casino way. They chose not to do the right thing.

Shreveport, Louisiana. Do not go to Bally’s. They are greedy Pieces of Shit. There are 4 other casinos here you can gamble at. I’ll never go back.
