the only question i had after i finished watching this was - "why?". Did we really need to see any of that? Total retread of a million other things, except skinned as Bobba Fett. Very meh.

Pretty much this, just boring.  Also why can't shows that are purportedly about bounty hunters actually be about bounty hunting?  At least that would be a change of pace.

How and why was there a Stormtrooper inside the Sarlacc?

For the record, haven't seen an episode of Mando or BoBF, , is your complaint that lack of storm trooper competence is what ruined your fantasy?

Boba and Mando and WoT for that matter are in my "let's see what people think 5 years from now" before I get involved.

who were the graffiti biker gang?

JL = Jabba Lives?

A conspiracy cult that believe Jabba is still alive?

And the return of the Max Rebo Band was way more awesome than it had any right to be.

The Max Rebo Band were on Jabba's barge, No?

How'd they survive? Or did just Max Rebo make it...he jumped or was forced off the barge by the explosion? Then made it back to Mos Espa and put a new band back together? I didn't see any of the others from the band, though I may have missed it. I did see a Cantina alien there with him but there are many of those on Tatooine apparently.

The idea of Max Rebo moving through the desert is funny though. Maybe the reason he wasn't attacked by sand people was they simply didn't believe he was real...

Tusken Raider: (sound of a dog hacking up a huge bone)

But translated: "I've seen so many strange things out here but a blue long nosed squishy thing? I refuse to believe that is anything but a mirage!"

The water pods they were digging for...I thought maybe they were eggs of that Goro-creature but it looked like it was clear water inside. So then I thought that kind of creature finds them and hordes them in nests in the sand. Either way, maybe the Tusken kid recognized something about that spot that looked the same as the rest of the desert to non Tuskens? Maybe he could tell there was a nest there but thought the creature wasn't?

Did Boba Fett overthrow Bib Fortuna? If so, I hope that's something we see in flashback. In any case, if Bib had anything monogrammed at least Boba doesn't need to lose it.

In summation...I liked it. Looking forward to the next episode.

It was fine, I guess.  It was sort of weird, Fett just trudging around - literally hat in hand - to tell people he was the new boss in town.  I couldn't tell if the casino owner was laughing at him, but then he got a helmet full of money.

Flashback scenes were somewhat interesting...I guess we now know why he was dressed like a Tusken Raider when we first saw him The Mandalorian.  But, yes...it's weird that those water pod things are right under the sand.  Maybe that's what Uncle Owen was really growing as a "moisture farmer".  Also, are the Tuskens in the habit of sending their children off alone with prisoners?  Particularly one who just choked out one of your guard dogs and tried to escape?

Bib Fortuna survived as well, and I'm assuming a bunch of other people. I mean, the sail barge was like 3 feet above the ground when it blew up, people bailing before that seems pretty reasonable, and it looks like they weren't hugely far from civilisation. We also see Jawas showing up quite quickly, and I suspect Fortuna at least would have had a communicator on him.

There is a comic where Max Rebo and his twin brother escape from certain death in a speeder bike chase, which is quite a trip.

Remember this?

There is quite a detailed account of Boba's escape from the sarlaac in a book (one Tales from Mos Eisley Cantina? Something like that) and in a Dark Horse comic from the early 1990s, which I am 100% certain Oswalt would have read and just took the idea from there.

Did I imply something was ruined?

It was a question.  That Max Reebo survived the destruction of Jabba's sail barge? Not an issue.  A stormtroopers inside a dessert creature randomly? When there isn't an indication that any troopers should have been there?  It's an oddity.  I can come up with a reason for it, regardless of how strong I think the reasoning is.  But it's an oddity that felt random in the moment.  Then I moved on.

Sometimes you guys are just buzzkills.

Its Star Wars with high production values that didn’t ruin anything that came before it.  For that, I enjoyed it and continue to lament that Kathleen Kennedy was ever allowed creative control of Star Wars in any capacity.

Kathleen Kennedy greenlit Mandalorian entirely and greenlit this as well.

I enjoyed revisiting the Star Wars universe, just as i enjoyed the Mandalorian.    But neither show has taken any big risks so far, just returning to familiar ground, circling the same time period.

As to the stormtrooper in the Sarlacc Pit, I just assumed Jabba dropped him in there for some reason.  I assume the Sarlacc Pit  is where Jabba made a lot of problems disappear, the ones he didn't feed to the rest of his pets.

I thought it was pretty good.  But then I came in with pretty low expectations.  When I saw the end credit scene last year I was decidedly unexcited for a show about Boba taking over Jabba's empire, pretty sure I said so here at the time.  But, well, currently have some free time to give it a try.  Disney's got good timing!

Didn't mind all the flashbacks that much -- as long as now the show is done with it.  The first portion of them needed to be addressed anyway.  As for the stormtrooper, I agree with others that I don't think it's weird at all at least one would be there, due to myriad possible circumstances.
