I like this one  of Dany, from the  Winter is Coming game, which always reminds me of Goya's painting of Wellington.  In both cases, it captures the doubts and vulnerability of a powerful military leader.

Even though I think Rhaegar >>>>>>>>>> Robert, I think the best artwork of an event is consistently the Trident moment. One of the better things it brings to mind is that Rhaegar/Targaryens really do look the part of villain, even if you know they’re not.

I've heard that the only GRRM-approved image of Jon Snow is this one:

Can anyone confirm or deny?

He's approved pictures of Jon for the calendars and illustrated editions, so I would consider those all equally legitimate.

There's some great fanart based on the HOTD trailers:

All I see is a white rectangle in black, with what appears to be somethnig like a crude mountain drawing in that white. Snow is white alright and Jon is all in black. Mountain must be Arya Flint. :D

yep , that's just abstract art. and if you see that every time a photo's link is not working , that's because Google is a big fan of Jon Snow

P.S. I'll fix it later .

Has anyone got the Illustrated versions of ACOK and ASOS? Thoughts on the artwork within?

I mostly liked the AGOT artwork, although I would be happier with consistent artwork from one commissioned artist rather than various depictions from a multitude of artists (some of which were available before the book was made).

The portrait of Aegon V in The World of Ice and Fire is unfortunately inaccurate; it depicts Aegon V with the Valyrian Steel circlet and square rubies of Aegon the Conqueror's crown while it's stated he wore the simple golden band worn by Aegon III and Viserys II.
