Back in Black-Snow
I am not picking out any particular oath here. Let us first come up with all the references we can find regarding oaths and then try to make some sort of sense of them. Shall we? I'll start: I kind of wanted to start from the first mention of "oath" in A Game of Thrones, but I haven't learned the search function yet, apparently. And should we count the stuff that refers to an oath, but doesn't necessarily specifically spell it out? Anyway... My firt recollection of the mentioning of an oath: The conversation between Jon Snow and Benjen Stark when Jon decided he wanted to join the Nights Watch. Aline de Gavrillac
Oaths in Westeros are sacred. Ned, "No man is more dangerous." He was referring to oathbreakers.
