You switched to supporting City? 54 minutes ago, Tywin et al. said: How many other teams are operating under the same conditions as Chelsea though? The team looked dominate for the first two months or so, then injuries started to happen, and if you didn't hear, the owner was sanctioned to hell and now the whole situation is messy as fuck. You can't pretend that didn't have a huge impact. When have Chelsea looked dominant this season? Sure, sanctions did bring some instability and insecurity to the club but it's not as if Chelsea were frontrunners in the league before they were put in place. As far as injuries are concerned, you'll have to wait for a couple of seasons at the very least before you get any sympathy from Liverpool supporters after last season when we had 20-ish different combinations of CB pairings. By the way, squad depth is the main reason why City has won as many league titles as they have in recent seasons and every team in the league needs to adapt to that if they want to challenge for the title. polishgenius
Yeah Chelsea's struggles aren't because Roman got sanctioned, they're because when looking for a new figurehead striker and goalscorer they went in consecutive seasons for Werner then Lukaku*, and other transfer misfires and misses since they were allowed to start spending again. I mean, you're talking about injuries but they sent out their backup LB on loan without a recall clause. That's just bad squad management. *and because Tuchel. Consigliere
United's players look like they are having a spa day. Knew I shouldn't have wasted my time watching this game. A poor season is one thing but the lack of fight is galling.
Soylent Brown
In fairness to McTominay, his fouls-per-minute rate seems to be as high as ever today.

Absolutely insane that he doesn't have a yellow card yet. He's pulled down three or four players cynically, amongst his many other fouls.

They looked very imposing during the first three months of the season and were absolutely competing for the top spot. Then the team fell apart for a number of reasons. That happened before the sanctions, but it's fair to point out that they still had an impact that could have been significant. Xray the Enforcer
I was mildly pleased at the first Brighton goal, surprised by the second. But getting another brace in 90 seconds is next level. No matter how good De Gea plays, he's only one person. Somebody ought to tell the defense to show up. And I was typing that, Brighton had another run on goal deflected at the last moment. Wow, it's as if you were picking a club with most despicable owners. You should've added Newcastle to the mix. I am aware you were picking a team before Saudi takeover, and Ashley still qualified. 4 minutes ago, Tywin et al. said: They looked very imposing during the first three months of the season and were absolutely competing for the top spot. Competing for the top spot is not the same as being dominant, is it? Sanctions definitely had an impact on players, despite all the special allowances from the UK government that allowed the club to function as close as possible to normal, under the circumstances. That's the other side of the medal when your owner is a Russian oligarch who has no issue with spending insane amounts of money on the club with utter disregard if he'd ever see it again. Consigliere
Ouch! Potter>>>>Rangnick We threw away the whole season for nothing. Might have been acceptable if Rangnick was going to perform a similar role that he did for Red Bull but now we know that his role is a very peripheral one. Should have just hired Conte in that case then we'd have stood a much better chance of finishing 4th at least.
