 DS9 is a simple tool, you say. :D  I think I need a computer with a better processor and more storage capacity before I even attempt to use it.  What I really want to see is the spectroscopy.  That would make colourizing objects that interest me, somewhat more targeted.  But the demo is much appreciated and also fun to watch.

Well, I don't really know about stargazing tours in the U.S.  But I think  a desert tour would be great - no light pollution.  The advertising for some of these tours,  look interesting and fun.
