 DS9 is a simple tool, you say. :D  I think I need a computer with a better processor and more storage capacity before I even attempt to use it.  What I really want to see is the spectroscopy.  That would make colourizing objects that interest me, somewhat more targeted.  But the demo is much appreciated and also fun to watch.

Yes!  There have been quite a few of these now.  Galaxies appear to have formed much faster than previously thought,

I was in Flagstaff, AZ and apparently they try to be good at this around there?

Well, I don't really know about stargazing tours in the U.S.  But I think  a desert tour would be great - no light pollution.  The advertising for some of these tours,  look interesting and fun.
