UK Politics - You Must Be Furious

The Fixed Term Parliament Act was repealed in March, btw.

If Johnson wins narrowly but things get worse for him the Tory party have options. They can change their internal rules and have another election. Or, they can have a few folks go to Johnson and explain that if he does not resign, the usual generosity shown to former PMs in terms of lucrative board appointments, invitations to be paid lots of money for making speeches at nice dinners, etc. won't be forthcoming. Johnson being Johnson, he needs the money so he'll cave.

Me to my 1 year old 'what do you think little man, do you think Boris is toast'? Then he threw up in my face, I'm not sure if that's a positive or negative omen?

Depends on your allegiance.

My read. He is practicing for a job as a staffer at number 10. So throwing up means the party goes on, Boris stays.

Congratulations on raising a Tory btw. :leaving:

Under the Fixed Term Parliament Act, he doesn't need grounds, just two thirds of the House

Not sure the FTPA is particularly relevant, having been dissolved in March.

So 22:00 CET?

You have always been one hour behind most of Europe, even before Brexit.

Now, now, Pony. Not everyone has it in their genes to be a natural blitzer.

One Tory ally of Johnson reportedly saying of those voting against, "They are lying snakes, I don't trust a word they say."

That’s a bears shit in the woods statement.

I suck at Blitz. My weakest discipline by far, I take far too long to moves. Particularly in the opening.

Ah! I'm the opposite. Tend to blitz even in standard games.

If it's a tie does it go to penalties?

There’s an odd number of Tory MPs, so in that scenario whoever abstained would be kicking themselves

359 ballots cast.

211 in favour.

148 against.

Jesus.

That's worse than Theresa May's performance. Allies of BJ had said that that more than 100 against would be a "serious blow."
