Something that I began noticing while watching some films, is how often I think I know the gist of what the characters are saying. I wonder then, if that's due to our languages truly sharing ancestry, no matter how far we go, whereas with tonal languages such as those from China or Africa, I don't feel that. I liked the satirical ending of season one with Spoiler people not believing the spaceship was real so repeatedly threw themselves out the airlock despite seeing others dying.
