Nevertheless, here in the 'west', we don't have enough beds either.  For anything.  In many places there aren't even hospitals at all.

What we've got here are two nations who for perhaps different reasons -- here in the US, capitalism and profit -- and in China -- I dunno, not knowing China's workings the way I know this nation's -- but both doing a damned shyte job with public health, and particularly public health catastrophes, crises and pandemics.

Yes, it's a shame and shameful, but we in the USA don't have any reason to be smug about it.  Look at the way our numbers are climbing again, people not being vaccinated, not having access to Pax or doctors or ambulances or hospital beds.  And not only by any means for covid.

Just for starters, reproductive medical care . . . .
