Blaming past Labour governments for things that they've caused is one thing but blaming a hypothetical future one for something literally happening now?

I think the Tories sometimes forget they’re in charge and have been since 2010

The republicans cry “this awful thing that’s happening while we’re in charge would happen in a world where democrats are in charge!” In America.

As I said earlier, the Tory playbook has always been to shift the topic to Labour when criticised, or when not being criticised for that matter. Ask a Tory about any government policy - housing, immigration, strikes, the NHS, inflation, even corruption - and if they can't defend, they'll attack. Partygate? What about Starmer? Strikes? Labour won't condemn them! They will never stop this, even if they're in government for another thirty years.

It literally happened in 2020, they would post pictures of current events and then say "This would happen in Biden's America"

"This is Labour's rail strike."

Tory after Tory going unchallenged across British Media pushing this absurd line. Absolute state of these so-called journalists.

You cannot hope to bribe or twist
(thank God!) the British journalist.
But, seeing what the man will do
unbribed, there’s no occasion to.

The problem with that tweet is that this isn't a question of logic. The Tories understand that. They're making an emotional argument on the assumption that people tend to intuitively associate 'Labour' with 'strikes'. If you just repeat the two words in close association, eventually it'll work.

The irony is, striking by the public sector happens more under a Labour govt here than under the Tory equivalent, because public sector unions believe there is a more sympathetic govt in power who will respond more favourably even to strike action and agree to greater demands from unions. They also know that they can only get decent improvements in pay and conditions from Labour govts, because the right wing is totally opposed to making public sector pay and conditions any better than they were when they first took over govt, and their first move is normally to gut the public sector as much as they can.

Triple lock pensions increases back in play.

Tories 'want to cut pay limits for city bosses but ALSO restrain public worker pay'

The Government has been blasted for a plan to strip controls over City bosses' pay while at the same time saying wages in the public sector need to be kept in check due to rising inflation.

The Cabinet Office minister is said to have written to the Chancellor wanting "deregulatory measures to reduce the overall burden on business" in a bid to attract more companies to the UK in the aftermath of Brexit.

This would involve removing restrictions on director and non-executive director remuneration, according to a leaked copy of the letter seen by the i newspaper.

First it was blue passports, industrial unrest, fascism, and imperial measurements.

Now, as part of the Tories' unrelenting mission to regress our arses back to the seventeenth century, they have decided to bring back polio! Hooray.

UK public health officials declare national incident over poliovirus

Quote

Doctors urged to consider polio if patients present with symptoms of paralysis.

Public health officials have declared a national incident after routine surveillance of wastewater in north and east London found evidence of community transmission of poliovirus for the first time.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said waste from the Beckton sewage treatment works in Newham tested positive for vaccine-derived poliovirus in February and that further positive samples had been detected since.

No cases of the disease or related paralysis have been reported, and the risk to the general public is considered low, but public health officials urged people to make sure that they and their families were up to date with polio vaccinations to reduce the risk of harm.

Coming next week: Workhouses, debtor prisons, and five-year-old chimney sweeps.

I honestly think if you rebadged the poor law, it would be a vote winner with a good 25%-33% of tory voters.

State of this. No wonder he's got zero viewers.

Mick Lynch has done well against a hostile press this week. He must really be wondering at the state of the British press.

Kay Burley made a fool of herself trying to get him to ‘admit’ the picket would use violence against workers crossing it. Then had the cheek to post on twitter that he wasthe flustered one.
