mormont
No, you see, immigrants who come to the country and join the Tory party do well are welcome. It's only those who are a drain on the state that need to be deported before they have a chance to come to the country and do well. If the above makes no sense to you, that's why you're not Home Secretary.

The government he’s part of would have flown him to Rwanda.

Werthead
My local MP (Will Quince) has resigned from his extremely junior position, the first useful thing he's done since 2015. Some rumours that Truss and Mordaunt are both considering their positions.
BigFatCoward
Tories finally snapping and saying enough is enough reminds me of - 'Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row,' the former world number three famously told reporters, it was Gerulaitis' first win against Connors after losing 16 matches in a row against him. Derfel Cadarn
Xahawi’s expression in the announcement photo is the look of a man who knows the milk in his fridge will likely last longer than his time in that post, but he’ll enjoy it while it lasts. Spockydog
Now that Zahawi has accepted the post of Chancellor, he should also accept heightened scrutiny of his financial and business interests. D'oh! #WarrenMedicalLtd
Spockydog
LOL. Crooked cunt. Vaccine Minister, Nadhim Zahawi’s wife and two sons have established a new company called ‘Warren Medical Limited’ Quote The wife of Vaccine Deployment Minister Nadhim Zahawi is the owner and director of a newly-established medical company, Companies House records show. Lana Saib is listed as the owner, with a 75%+ shareholding, of a firm called ‘Warren Medical Limited‘. The company was incorporated on 10 June 2020 under the name “Zahawi Warren Limited”, before being changed a day later to its current title. On its Companies House page, Saib’s firm is listed as trading in real estate, yet its name clearly indicates a healthcare specialism. The company does not appear to have a website that could provide more information. As Zahawi is about to discover, it's much easier to bury your financial impropriety when you're not the man in charge of the nation's finances. And if the rumours are to be believed, this clown is one of the biggest crooks in the Conservative Party.
SeanF
A whole bunch of junior ministers are resigning. It looks as if the 1922 committee will change the rules to allow another VONC which Johnson will now lose, unless he steps down.

I was taking about board dynamics where any accusation against anyone associated with the right was automatically believed, whereas anything said on the left was to be explained away. And with you, specifically, I objected to your claim that it was empirically obvious that Corbyn would have been better than Johnson. And just to repeat myself, despite the frequent accusations: I didn’t, nor would I ever, vote for either of them. Ukraine and Covid are the issues where Corbyn would have been worse than Johnson (and they are big).

Ukraine, yeah, very likely. Covid. Not overall. There's quite a bit the Johnson regime has to answer for, too. PPE contracts without tender for Tory donors. That test trace fiasco with Dido fucking Harding in the center of it. The downplaying of covid in the beginning including the hospitalisation of Bozo. Partygate and Cummings legendary eye sight test trip with a positive test. And probably a few other things I have forgotten to mention. With Covid I am not willing to dismiss Captain nonsense as worse out of hand.

As against that the vaccination was done well, and I think Corbyn would have maintained lockdown for much longer.
Spockydog
People keep saying Boris has done well on Ukraine. Well, apart from failing to properly sanction any of Putin's chums, what has he actually done? Yeah, we sent them some anti-tank missiles. But Ukraine are are losing this war. Badly. And it really doesn't look like things are going to end well for Zelensky. So, apart from the self-serving, skin-saving photo ops with Zelensky, what has Boris Johnson actually done for Ukraine that is so great? Where are the practical, tangible benefits? And what has he done to offset the continuing existence of Liz Truss? Genuine question.
