Links that don't say anything about what they're linking to are useless, and take up more time than they're worth. I used to mostly link articles, and copy/paste the headline and first 1 or 2 paragraphs; twitter links do essentially the same, with much less hassle for me, no more hassle for viewers, and includes pictures or videos.
