Daemon the Leaner
there's no way that's our best XI with Elanga and Dalot in it ok for Eriksen's passing but he's probably the worst midfielder we have at pressing /winning the ball
Rorshach
Elanga I'd think would be in for swift counterattacking?
A Horse Named Stranger
So, who would you pick instead of Elanga? Why do you think, ten Hag wants to throw silly money at Ajax for Antony?

A Horse Named Stranger
(Un-)lucky - depending on your allegiance. United look like a proper football team thus far. Like I said, I think this is right now the stronges XI they could field.
Rorshach
That's a great attack and a very good goal. Can't fault Liverpool much, except Allison, who really shouldn't go for that dummy.
The Sunland Lord
Great from Sancho and very poor from Van Dijk. Just standing there showing him where to shoot.

A Horse Named Stranger
Ok, looks like Liverpool are trying to impose some sort of control onto the game now. Let's see if they can get some clear cut chance before the half-time or even the equalizer.

ljkeane
Well that was a seriously concerning half of football.

Rorshach
Biggest issue so far (compared to other United matches this season) is aggressiveness, I think. That and coordinated pressing or falling back. Liverpool getting harried for a lot of the half, and haven't managed to deal with it, until the end of the half when United were more tired. Iskaral Pust
Liverpool have crumbled under any high press lately. They seem to expect the opponent to just retreat into the usual pattern of territorial dominance. And VVD has been over-casual for a while. He seems to have bought into his reputation a little too much.
A Horse Named Stranger
I'd say the difference is overall mobility. Ten Hag has benched the least mobile/quick players (CR7, Maguire) and has decided that McTominay is better suited for the role as the muscle next to Eriksen. The front three (Rashford, Sancho, Elanga) around Bruno are so much more mobile, and have a better work rate, thus they are overall harder to defend than when they have to move around CR7. He might still make an impact as sub later.
