Bowl of dragon brown

Recommended Posts

Watching HotD brought a thought to my head. When a dragon dies, the Targaryens place its skull to the throne to decorate its halls. But how do they clean the skull and what do they do with the meat and the rest of the bones?

Im not sure if theres any evidence of dragons burning in the text but they are at the least very comfortable around heat, so wold boiling be enough to clean the bones of flesh? Could they burn the flesh off, or would bones turn to ash as well? And then what do they do with the rest of the carcass? It would be taboo to eat the meat as dragons are almost deified in Westeros, specially being the symbol of the royal families power. Could they have fed it to other dragons? I feel like there would be text evidence if that were true. Dragons are so magical it seems unrealistic that they would just burn them unless its in a ritualistic way such as Targaryen funerals. There must be a lot of meat on a dragon so feeding the poor with that meat could actually do some good.
