Patel jumping before she’s pushed.

Though apparently she’ll be replaced by Braverman.

Patel and Braverman aren't Hitler and Stalin. They're like Hitler and Stalin's idiot cousins who were put in charge of the pigs and promptly lost them all.

As for Truss, she got what she wanted, which was to be Prime Minister. Just like her predecessor, that was all she was in it for. Like her predecessor, she'll hang on for dear life to the Chequers parties and the Number 11 flat and the car and the status. Unlike her predecessor, she hasn't got any real weapons to wield in that fight. She already gave away all the major offices in return for political support. I expect her to try to run everything from the PM's office, as Johnson did, but even more so because she's out of her depth and she knows it and the thing stupid people do in that situation is try to hang on to every scrap of power out of fear.

The only reason she's not as big a clown as Johnson is that you get the impression making balloon animals would be too demanding for her.

In case any non-UK boarders would like to get a handle on what life in Tory Britain is like, watch the clip below.

This is from what is still the most widely watched daytime TV programme in the country, by the way.

Millionaires turning the life or death plight of countless British families into light entertainment?

Schofield should be ashamed of himself.

Is this for real, not satire?  If not, it's OBSCENE.

Astonishingly, Johnson has decided that the occasion of him being kicked out in disgrace demanded a farewell speech that served no purpose other than vanity. So the media duly turned up and listened to him talk about what a great success he's been.

Tory politicians in the year 2022. It's all about them. Not about us.

Edwina Currie: Many of us grew up in houses without central heating but we have become dependent on it now.

Yes, you anus-faced harradin, and our ancestors grew up in caves with guards at the entrance to stop us from getting eaten by sabre-toothed tigers.
