Space Champion -- don't fret, it's not bad at all. And the flag and service patch insignias are growing on me. Thank God they used an old-fashioned sounding tune instead of incorporating modern rap music or slam poetry.

If I had a second chance at youth, I'd still have joined the USA (hahaha), but the USSF would have been a tempting alternative given how it will become the most decisive supporting department during US future wars. And once the US and allies dominate this domain, no unaligned country on Earth will be able to compete (unless permitted).

Who needs a dozen or so USN carrier battle groups to project national power when a handful of near-earth orbital weapons platforms will be able to (in the near future) strike more efficiently and effectively. If there's any doubt, allow me to remind everyone, the future is American.

[EARTH] "Who rules Eastern Europe commands the Heartland; Who rules the Heartland commands the World Island; Who rules the World Island commands the world" -- Sir Halford John Mackinder

[SEA] “For whosoever commands the sea commands the trade; whosoever commands the trade of the world commands the riches of the world, and consequently the world itself.” -- Sir Walter Raleigh

[SPACE] “Who controls Low-Earth Orbit controls Near-Earth Space. Who controls Near-Earth Space dominates Terra. Who dominates Terra determines the destiny of humankind.” -- Everett Dolman

Boom, successful impact.

I still think this is misguided. We'd be better off taking a crew off an oil rig and teaching them to be astronauts so they can drill a hole into the asteroid and nuke it in space...

I just want to point out that this https://www.space.com/international-space-station-acid-lake-mount-doom is not Mount Doom.

This is Mount Doom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Ngauruhoe.

Cool photo nonetheless.

On Tuesday SpaceX is aiming to launch Falcon Heavy after a 40 month gap.

Angry Astronaut gives a run down of why FH hasn't been used all that much, and why that is about to change with the version 2 variant of Starlink.
