Well, Jimmy looked really good on his first drive.  Won’t be good for the soap opera, but at least we won’t be getting the questions on if Trey is good or not.

We need those questions answered, though, and the longer we go without him playing football the more likely the answer will be ‘not’.

Hearing ruled out for the game (ankle), so that probably means it’s at least a break or tear.

INT.

Sometimes I think about it and can't stop laughing. They dumped this fool after one year. Moron fuckwit opinionists were blathering about how much safer he was with the ball, because when you keep getting INTs stupidly altered into fumbles like some alternative tuck rule bullshit it makes your stats look marginally less absolutely putrid, and that's all that matters anymore; the numbers on the Chris Pontakia's stupid dum DumB Big Board that tells you what to think and how to bet -brought to you by Caesar's Casino and Hotel from GLITZY LAaaaaaS Veeegaaaas!

Do you have a crippling risk aversion deficit, a family timebomb you want to light the fuze on and get over with already, or a Mistress/Master threatening to go public? Come on down to GLITZY LAaaaaS Veeegaaaaas! -T.Y.'s nickname is Ghost but I straight up forgot he'd come back from that injury. Thought he moved to a WR farm up state. And that was during the winning streak! I watch every snap. He's washed. Wentz sucks. But so does Frank Reich. This dude couldn't coach himself out of a stopped car. He's a bum. He thought Wentz was good 'cause of like Jesus and shit. Like I don't care what you believe in, it's all yawns to me, but it's revealing -who- you believe in and why you believed in him. Like, this was your guy? The Carson Wentz. That's who you're going with?

Like i said. I laugh. At least they got rid of him. But I don't give no fucks about Matt Ryan. I had fun with Rivers because of the oddness and hilarity of it. But, like, anyone with two working eyes knew he was DONE three weeks into the 2020 season. I'm not particularly interested in that. And I love having good lines but translating the #3 pick into a LG you're about to pay 22 million a year and an off-ball Linebacker (with a degenerative ankle injury that he chose not to have surgery on) that you're paying 19 million a year... It'd be different if the O-line was good. And if the defense wasn't only good when playing the Jaguars (sometimes).

It's bizarre and confusing that this team is so tight fisted with money and non-adventurous in FA but they're somehow ancient at key positions, have exhausted that ginormous pile of carryover cap money, and  have no future to speak of. RB wheels fall off fast. Ryan is gonna be 37 I think. TY sucks. Highly paid Center and RT both suck now, always missing games. The Shade of MVPs-Last-Decade is making like thirteen mill for the next two years at cornerback while the "BEST SLOT CORNER IN THE GAME" -who played like he'd slept on a pile of smallpox in week 17- wants more money because he keeps hearing/reading on fan sites that he's "THE BEST SLOT CORNER IN THE GAME" when really he's just, like, pretty good. Rarely below average, I'd say. Which is a good thing for a cornerback, but a long way from some kinda star.

And look, I like Yanick Ngokue as a player. But this dude has been on like five teams in four years, and they all keep investing in upgrades over him when they send him packing. And you're acting like you just solved your D-line???

This team hasn't had a single QB pressure since Robert Mathis retired.

Wtf is happening in Denver. Russel sucks and they have 2 good running backs. Zero touchdowns in the red zone

Mr Hackett should just start planning to take the family to Greece during the spring now. He ain't gonna have a job to worry about.

Spring? They just ran an option play on 3rd and 1. He won’t make it to week 8

Usually it's pretty clear even in the first weeks who is going to be my best options at QB for my maximally shitty fantasy team, but this year my cup overfloweth. Absolute buffoons calling plays that turn even decent QBs into candidates for drafting. Just wow. (FWIW, I have hung my fortunes on Geno Smith for the time being. I have high hopes that he'll net a negative score at some point before Seattle is forced to turn to that playmaking powerhouse Drew Lock.)

Reports Lance’s injury is a season-ender.

I think this makes SF a stronger contender to win the Super Bowl this year, but absolutely kills any development and evaluation of Lance with Jimmy a probability to walk in the off season.

Nah, Lance made you guys a lot better this year, even if it took him half the season to figure shit out.

I’ve been in that bandwagon for years, but the Broncos are my first love. I thought it would be different

You cheating whore! Thought you were a Vikes fan to your core.

But in all seriousness, he can't move like he use to even just a few years ago which is why he takes so many hits.

Indeed! Last season I totally fucked up and forgot the draft day, so I ended up with actual contenders to start out, and it was a WHOLE THING for me to drop the players (if I dumped them all at once, it would have destabilized the whole league by rewarding just the folks with desk jobs who could snap 'em all up -- and about half of people in my league work outside doing fieldwork). So this year I set an alarm and made sure I was around to draft the best scrubs. I'm well on the way this week to having my kicker be my highest-scoring player.

I think it possibly makes us a stronger contender to win more games, but I feel like the move to Trey was all about raising the ceiling, and getting a guy who can win Super Bowls for you as opposed to one you can win Super Bowls with. I think a bad call here or not-dropped Int there and Jimmy’s already got one with SF, but normally he’s not carrying you. The other thing is that Kyle was finally going to get to implement his full attack run game, and now without Trey…or Mitchell for a while…life has gotten easier for opposing DCs.

Now there are things Jimmy excels at…possibly the quickest release in the league, spins it beautifully and a master at creating lanes between the numbers. I feel he’s slightly better in games like today or his first year, where’s he’s kind of winging it, rather than kyle’s heavy handed dictated style…maybe Kyle learns to loosen a bit, but otoh Jimmy’s specialty passes on crosses/etc. over the middle does mesh well with some of kyle’s running scheme, it just caps it a bit. Reports out of camp were that Jimmy was looking better throwing long and deep outs…lengthening his release a bit with better planting for longer throws…and I think we maybe saw a bit of that today, but we’ll see.

But I can’t pretend this isn’t a devastating blow for the franchise. Maybe more than any quarterback in NFL history, Trey needs reps, and so now to begin next year he’ll be looking at something like 400 game snaps in 5 years since HS. And as you say, Jimmy’s likely out the door. Just a franchise crippling injury, long-term. Even if we say land Godgers, that’s three firsts thrown to the wind unless Trey can sit and learn behind him and start year 5 like he did.
