A liberal hipster Jew inspiring today's conservative Christians will never cease to be funny to me.

And back to the weed conversation, I've got a bone to pick with some of you dorks and an attorney who wears warpaint to tax conference retreats. Good pot smells amazing, be it a lite whiff or opening a door to a party and just getting straight hit by the chronic. That doesn't mean someone should be taking bong hits on the subway, but I can't lie, I had to smile while walking around Central Park as it brought me back to my teens and early 20s and all the music festivals I use to go to.

OK, I find the above to be outrageous. You are talking about a place which is overwhelmingly Hispanic -- only one of the people suspended doesn't have a Spanish surname, and that's a German one. But of course I would think it just as bad if you had come up with Hispanic-stereotyped given names to mock these people. Evidently you are assuming that Hughie, Roscoe, and Enos are redneck names -- probably because of TV shows you've watched -- and that somehow it is OK to use them to mock people you think are incompetent. Why? Do you really think people who really are named Hugh, Roscoe, and Enos deserve to have their names used in this way? No one deserves to be have their name used for mockery.

You are 100% right, and I would never do that. But as they say, if you're explaining you're losing, so deleted. I'll leave it to you whether you keep my shame exposed for the eternity of the internet.

Looks like the FBI really is investigating if Trump had secret government documents stashed at his other properties.

The deliberate self-blindness and delusion by the Trump fans in the comments is both impressive and disturbing.

'Holy moley': Legal experts believe FBI inquiry into possible Trump Tower stash related to looming 'criminal case' (msn.com)

The magazine reported Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have questioned witnesses about whether government documents could be located at Trump Tower and other properties owned by the former president.

I drove Uber for a year and a half after I was laid off from the job I uprooted my family and moved them to Greenville SC to take.  The people who got into my car reaking of marijuana were the absolute worst (not that the people reaking of tobacco were much better it was a close race).  I had to drive around with the windows down in the dead of winter to try to mitigate the smell.

Pot and Cigarettes just smell terrible.

Thank you very much. I have deleted my objection to your original post.

I may have been too strong in my original objection because all of this also rubs me the wrong way because I think it is counterproductive to have the national media focusing on the Uvalde police force. I certainly do think the people in Uvalde itself have the right or even the obligation to investigate and make their own determination about the actions of local law enfocement that day. But any single mass shooting event is going to have multiple causes, as any major act of violence does. In hindsight there will always be many changes to the unique circumstances in any event that could have mitigated or even prevented it. By focusing on those issues, we once again shift the focus from what all these incidents have in common, which is the gun culture and pro-gun lobby in the United States. I think anyone outside of Texas focusing on the inadequaces of the police in a small poor HIspanic town may be inadvertently giving aid and comfort to the national gun lobby.

We have known for a very long time one of the many identifiers of fascists is they are sex-obsessed.

.... Gutfeld’s little outburst is worth noting because it underscores just how sex-obsessed rightwingers are. The party of supposedly small government is constantly inserting itself into other people’s pants. They want to ban sex education in schools; they want to restrict contraception; they want to force women to give birth; they want to ban women from wearing revealing clothes; they want to complain that college students aren’t wearing revealing enough clothes. Republicans don’t have any meaningful or coherent policies, they just have a fixation on controlling women.

While rightwingers are busy sexualizing college students young enough to be their own kids they’re also, of course, simultaneously shouting about how liberals are “groomers” who are trying to “recruit” children. The moral panic over “grooming”, it must be said, is starting to look a lot like projection. Let’s not forget, after all, that Matt Gaetz, a sitting Republican congressman is still under investigation for underage sex trafficking. Meanwhile Matt Walsh, a prominent rightwing commentator, has suggested that we should be pushing for more teenage girls to marry and get pregnant because it is “technically when they’re at their most fertile”. The party of family values, ladies and gentlemen!

Gutfeld’s spiel on “asexual” college students, doesn’t just exemplify the right’s sex-obsession – it’s also an example of the Republican’s fixation with attacking higher education. While anti-intellectualism has been a key part of the Republican party for a long time (Ronald Reagan wanted to eliminate the Department of Education), it has ramped up recently. At the beginning of the 2010s, 58% of Republicans believed higher education had a positive impact on the course of the country, according to the Pew Research Center. In 2015 that number started dipping dramatically and by 2019 only 33% agreed colleges and universities were shaping the US for the better. Republican politicians like Ron DeSantis, meanwhile, have been vying for more control over state universities and trying to regulate what can be taught about race and identity.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand why universities terrify Republicans: they teach critical thinking skills. And the very last thing Republicans seem to want is for people to think for themselves. ....

POLITICO Playbook: The shoes keep dropping in Georgia

NYT’s Maya King, Lisa Lerer and Jonah Bromwich confirmed the reporting of The Daily Beast’s Roger Sollenberger about the abortion in 2009 — and revealed that the woman now alleges Walker encouraged her to have a second abortion two years later. She refused, giving birth to a now 10-year-old boy with whom she says Walker has had a minimal relationship. (POLITICO has not independently verified the reporting.)

Hey. Nearly a month until election day.

It is on a Saturday right?

Because what insane nation would have their elections on a day when most people work?

Lucky us, we also have early voting, which I will do. Despite the gdd dems again just royally effin' up everything including the choices of whom I can vote for.  Unless AOC and her ilks can gain control of the party here, NY is doomed too.

We sent some money to Warnock this week; the media has entirely washed him out of the news while they relentlessly breathalize that forced birth ignoramous.

Yes, he can.

Well of course.

A couple of the left-wing persons whose videos constantly show up on my "Suggested" list on my YouTube homepage often use clickbait titles like "Trump humiliates himself" when they are showing you the latest obviously false and stupid thing he said at a rally. Those titles irritate me. Trump has never felt "humiliation" in his life. Humility is a completely foreign concept to a narcissist of his caliber.  He can and will say whatever self-aggrandizing thing pops into his mind and never feel a speck of shame.

Schumer the latest example of American's "Doth protesting too much."

"Chuck Schumer Condemns Saudi Arabia For OPEC+ Decision To Reduce Oil Production | HuffPost Latest News" https://www.huffpost.com/entry/chuck-schumer-saudi-arabia-opec-oil-decision_n_63403169e4b0b7f89f4b3586

Schumer can look in the mirror for blame. We have made the Saudis persona non grata and then tried the hat in hand routine. In their eyes we have been ingrates.

On the one hand we have several profitable and beneficial Saudi investments in our economy, from Vegas casino building to midwest manafacturing jobs. While on the other hand we want to cast them as pariahs.

Too much obsessing of Bezos' dead journalist. If our allies were this finicky and thin skinned we would be isolated in the World, do people really believe there's never been unjust executions in the U.S.?

Its not worth losing a valuable allie over.

We lost our moral authority to lecture long ago, I'll take the jobs the Saudis create, they are real and lucrative.
